The Carson City Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife met on January 22, 2026, at 5:31 PM. Chair Rob Beamer presided, with Vice Chair Thompson and members Dimmitt, Fleming, and Stewart present (quorum achieved). Public Comments & Testimony
- Jake (new NDOW fisheries biologist) introduced himself as the biologist overseeing fisheries in several counties including Carson City. He noted he managed Carson Lake WMA previously and offered to answer questions about the Walker River survey and other waterways.
- Robin Olof raised concerns about the lack of public comments included in agendas, citing NRS 241.010 and 241.020. She argued that written public comments should be considered supporting documents. Chair Beamer acknowledged the city's practice and assured that comments are forwarded to the city clerk and attorney.
- Elise Monroy (Carson City Health and Human Services) announced a community needs assessment survey covering housing, food, healthcare, behavioral health, workforce development, and clothing. The survey runs through February 6, 2026, and she encouraged board members to participate.

- Item 10K – Black Bear Seasons 2026 (CR2607): No changes recommended. Board supported the proposal, noting that vehicle collisions kill more bears than hunting and that the population remains healthy.
- Item 10L – Mountain Lion Seasons and Harvest Limits (CR2608): No changes to open/closed units or statewide harvest limit of 247. Board supported the regulation, noting that harvest has never approached the limit.

And uh clicking on in progress, and then you can view the meeting uh live if you want to. Okay. Um you may you as the public may provide public comment in advance of this meeting or any meeting that we have for the Carson City Wildlife or Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife. Um or make written submissions to the to our email address, um, which is through the clerk's office. Uh Miss Brianna Munoz is who we have on here, but we may be switching that to Zach at one point in time, right? So until that happens and we uh agendize that, um, you can the email that we can use is B Munios at Carson City.gov uh for any inclusion or uh reference in any minutes of the meeting, your public comment must include your full name and uh be submitted via email by no later than 3 p.m. Uh the day before the meeting. Public comment during a meeting is limited to three minutes uh for each speaker unless the chair allows for more. Um but we we tend to stick pretty close to that unless you are of an agency, then we allow you a little bit more time.
