Um items of business.

1:35

Uh really only one thing that we got on here.

1:37

So that would just be an update from medical clinic.

1:44

Any any specific update or something?

1:46

Yes, actually, we do have uh I spoke to this thing this morning, and uh the IV therapy is largely gonna go away because uh the largely because of the cost and also the particularly the option three that had all the vitamins and stuff in there.

2:03

Those vitamins only have a one month shelf life once you open them, and so they wind up throwing away three quarters of it, and they're not willing to go to work with that.

2:11

So well, they well supplies last and who sang maybe a week, maybe two weeks.

2:16

Okay, they'll continue that, and then after that, the only ones they will offer will be saline and B12, and that will uh continue for the foreseeable future.

2:27

Far as uh encounters go.

2:29

I have uh the most recent report that I have is from uh January.

2:34

Uh no COVID encounters, which is a good thing.

2:36

They are seeing quite a lot of flu, uh but they had 180 total encounters to include 10 at the uh new Noble Clinic, which is a good deal.

2:46

Uh 20 at uh uh Norman Family Medicine, 99 at Norman Urgent Care, uh 10 at more family medicine and 41 and more urgent.

2:56

We had seven drug streams and 28 on-site clinic visits, which is actually pretty good.

3:01

The on-site clinic is actually being utilized pretty well for the the first time in a long time.

3:08

And uh other than that.

3:11

No news is good news, I guess.

3:18

All right, um, any new business?

3:22

Or under statements and announcements.

3:25

Um and it bleeds over.

3:29

We do have the wellness committee.

3:32

All right, that hasn't somewhat of a different function and everything, but we meet quarterly on that.

Cleveland County Employee Benefits Committee Regular Meeting - March 5, 2026

The Employee Benefits Committee met on March 5, 2026, at 9:00 AM in the Cleveland County Office Building. Chairman Rod Cleveland called the meeting to order with members present: Cleveland, Pam Howlett, Raimie McDaniel, Marilyn Williams, and Tammy Richards. Vice-Chairman Douglas Warr was absent. The committee approved the minutes of the February 5, 2026 regular meeting and received updates on the medical clinic and a new wellness incentive program.

Consent Calendar

  • Approved the minutes of the February 5, 2026 regular meeting (unanimous vote).

Discussion Items

  • Medical Clinic Update (presented by Emergency Manager George Mauldin): Mr. Mauldin reported that IV therapy services will largely be discontinued due to high costs and short shelf life of vitamins (one month after opening, leading to 75% waste). Only saline and B12 infusions will continue for the foreseeable future. For January 2026, the clinic had 180 total encounters: 10 at the new Noble Clinic, 20 at Norman Family Medicine, 99 at Norman Urgent Care, 10 at Moore Family Medicine, 41 at Moore Urgent Care, plus 7 drug screens and 28 on-site clinic visits. No COVID encounters were recorded, but a significant number of flu cases were seen.
  • Wellness Initiative Update: The committee discussed a new wellness incentive program funded by ARPA money. A previous weight loss challenge had low participation and participants will be refunded. The new program will involve a wellness app for employees to track points for activities such as gym visits, walking, 10,000 steps per day, attending classes at The Well, blood donation (planned for May 9), and other wellness activities. Classes will include cardio kickboxing, Tai Chi, journaling, and cooking. The program is intended to run for 3 months starting May 1, 2026, with the goal of creating habits. All employees who earn enough points can be winners. The wellness committee will make recommendations to the county commissioners. The county has obligated ARPA funds that must be spent by end of 2026, so the timeline aligns.

Key Outcomes

  • The committee unanimously approved the February 5, 2026 minutes (all present voted yes).
  • The meeting was adjourned by unanimous vote.
  • The committee received the medical clinic update and discussed the wellness program framework; no formal action was taken but direction was given to proceed with planning.
