Staff and Appointee Reports
- Agenda Planner Review: Councilmember Donelson asked about two zone change items on the June 9, 2026 consent calendar. Kevin Walker, Planning Director, stated he is 95% certain the Ute Valley Park parcel (203 acres) and the Stanton Road property (5.25 acres) are already owned by the City, and he will verify. The Stanton Road property is zoned public facilities and was purchased with existing residential zoning.
Discussion Items
- Stormwater Ordinance Introduction (Item 8A): Erin Powers, Stormwater Enterprise Manager, presented an ordinance amending Article 8 of Chapter 3 of City Code to strengthen enforcement options for illicit discharges and update exclusions to align with the city's MS4 permit. She noted a companion ordinance addressing permanent control measures was not on the agenda due to an administrative issue and will be brought back on June 8, 2026, with a target first reading on June 9, 2026. Councilmember Henjum asked if the two ordinances support each other; Ms. Powers replied they are not directly supportive but relate to one another.
- Authorization of Out-of-State Travel (Item 10A): Councilmember Donelson requested permission to join a Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation trip to Huntsville, Alabama, to learn about business and military programs. Council President Crow-Iverson asked for a show of thumbs up; consensus of Council approved the request.
