- Rejection of Bids for 2026 Pavement Preservation (Project 26-012): Monday explained that bids for a new Cape Sealing method came in approximately 60% higher than expected, making conventional mill and overlay more cost-effective. The board approved rejecting all bids unanimously.
- Right-of-Way Permit Applications: Approval granted for applications 3045–3047 and 3049–3055 as submitted; application 3048 was excepted because the proposed work lies within the county. Compliance with MUTCD and Board of Public Safety requirements was noted. Approved unanimously.
- Event Road Closures: Four events were presented, all previously approved by the Board of Public Safety on July 8, 2026. Items 1–3 were approved: American Legion Post 354's tri-state line dancers community fundraiser (August 1, 2026, 3–8 p.m., closing Chestnut from Walnut to the post); Children's Museum of Evansville's back-to-school event (August 15, 2026, 7 a.m.–10 p.m., closing 5th Street between Locust and Maine); and FJ Wrights Instrumental Music Booster Club's drums on the Ohio event (July 22, 2026, 8 a.m.–11 p.m., multiple road closures). The City of Evansville City Engineers request approval to open the quotes for the 2026 full depth patching project. Motion to approve. Second. All in favor? Aye. Aye. So we will open those now and revisit under other business. Speaking of business, we've got new business. The City of Evansville DMD requests approval of an amendment to an agreement with Hope of Evansville to extend the 2025 CDBG DPA assistance agreement, down payment assistance agreement to September 30th of this year. This allows Hope of Evansville to provide down payment assistance to income eligible home buyers. The total contract amount is 150,000. This is IDIS number 5130, 2025-37 NPS. Lisa Foster with DMD. Good afternoon, Mr. President, members of the board. The market's a little challenging for them. So hope is you know working with several of them. So we're hoping to extend this contract so that they can continue working with those home buyers. This is another contract. I think we're going to um change the dates that the contract runs from October 1st through September 30th. Seems to work better with this program. Great. Any questions from the board? Next up, the City of Evansville Metz requests approval of the continuation of a pilot-free bus fare program and creation of a new pilot program. Jonathan C.B. King. Hello, thank you. Mets is seeking uh continuation of our free bus fare program for seniors and those living with a disability. Okay. Program started out. Uh it was backed by a local grant. Um that funding ran out, and we wanted to try and continue the program and see how it works. Uh question. Then the so you say the funding ran out. And is this a request for funding then? Uh no, this is just a request to continue the program.
