1:49

Welcome to Pride Month.

1:51

In just a moment, we will be recognizing five special people and organizations selected by Alder Person Jocasta Samaripa and Alderman Peter Bergellis.

2:01

They are being honored for their commitment and contributions to the LGBTQ plus community.

2:10

I'm sure we can.

2:30

Alderprison Samaripa and Alderman Bergelis, the floor is yours.

2:38

Happy Pride Month, everybody.

2:39

My name's Alderman Peter Bergelis.

2:41

I'm joined by Alder Person Jocasta Zamaripa.

2:44

The first Pride was a riot.

2:48

And eight years before Stonewall, here in Milwaukee, not too far away at the Black Knight Tavern.

2:54

Trans women of color stood up and said they've had enough.

3:00

They fought back.

3:01

We can't forget that we have to stand up and fight every single day for our rights.

3:08

Pride month is a time when we remember our neighbors.

3:12

The LGBTQ plus community is next door.

3:19

Your police officer.

3:23

The community, the LGBTQ Plus community is a part of our community.

3:28

And today we celebrate a couple individuals and organizations that live that mission each and every day.

3:39

Well said, Alderman Bergelus.

3:41

Thank you.

3:43

I am Alderprison Jocasta Zamaripa, one of one member of our queer caucus here at the city.

3:50

And I'm very, very happy to be here with you all.

3:53

Thank you to the Milwaukee Common Council for always honoring and celebrating Pride Month here in Milwaukee and beyond.

4:00

And so as Peter said so eloquently, we want to honor some organizations and folks who are living their authentic selves, honoring and helping others to live authentically and being leaders in our queer community.

4:14

And so of course, it's only right that I start by honoring the Milwaukee LGBT Community Center today.

4:22

And behind us actually you have all of your honorees from staff to executive directors to board members to individuals.

4:29

Um we wanted them to stand up here on the dais today so you could see how um how powerful and awesome our LGBT community is is here in Milwaukee.

4:38

But with that, I wanna um call up Richie Martin, the executive director of the LGBT Community Center, and just give a few remarks as I hand um him this plaque so that we can honor them.

4:49

You know, the Milwaukee LGBT Community Center has come under tremendous fire, as you can imagine from the Trump administration.

4:56

Their very name uh has LGBT uh in its organizational name, and you can imagine the funding under Donald Trump that has come under at great risk, if not completely lost.

5:09

And so with Richie Mark Richie Martin's leadership and the leadership of his team and board members, they have worked very hard to ensure that the center continues here in Milwaukee.

5:20

And you know, they started in Walker's Point in Alderman Betis' district many, many years ago when I was just a kid, and they made their way to Alderwoman Cogs District at Court Street.

5:29

That was when I walked through the doors of the center for the very first time.

5:33

Ultimately, they ended up, I think, in Bauman's district, off of Water Street for a time before they came back to Court Street, but now they have come back home to Walker's Point on Milwaukee's near South Side.

5:44

And Alderman Bergelis and I and President Bedez were so happy to be at the ribbon cutting very recently.

5:50

Richie Martin, under his leadership and with his team, again have continued to ensure that the LGBT Community Center continues on here in Milwaukee.

5:59

It is part of our legacy.

6:00

They were one of the first in the country, and I want to ask Richie to please keep his great work going so we can continue to have a Milwaukee LGBT community center serving for generations to come.

6:11

Richie Martin and your team, I want to wish you a very happy pride, and I want to thank you so much for your grand leadership.

6:30

Folks, this year, this year, Pride Fest is joining the summer fest grounds once again, as they have.

6:39

This will be the 30th anniversary of Pride Fest.

6:44

Congratulations to Pride Fest.

6:45

With us, we have Wes Shaver, its president and CEO.

6:48

Wes, congratulations on continuing this tradition on Milwaukee's beautiful lakefront.

6:54

Thank you, Wes.

7:02

We'll get so with that.

7:04

Okay.

7:05

And I do want to add, Pride Fest does begin on Thursday.

7:09

I already bought my ticket with the VIP experience add-on.

7:14

And I challenge my colleagues to join me in um purchasing the same and joining me Thursday night.

7:20

But with that, I wanna move on to our next honoree.

7:23

Um as Alderman Bergelis noted, we're uh honoring some individuals this morning as well.

7:28

And so with that, I want to bring up Lieutenant Wadalupe Velazquez of our Milwaukee police department.

7:34

Lieutenant, some of you, I know my colleagues know, um, just got a promotion.

7:39

She for quite a long time was Sergeant Velazquez, but she is now Lieutenant Guadalupe Velasquez.

7:45

So let's congratulate her.

7:51

Well deserved, well-deserved promotion.

7:53

Lieutenant Velasquez is also um one of our um LGBTQ plus liaisons for the Milwaukee Police Department.

8:00

Uh in fact, one of the first, if not the first.

8:04

Yes, so yes.

8:08

So we want to thank her for her leadership as an out LGBTQ plus Milwaukee police officer.

8:13

She's joined here today by another out um law enforcement leader with Lieutenant Hall here in the room with us.

8:20

Um and so we want to thank him.

8:24

And I said this in committee because she used to um come to license committee, now she's gonna move on to Greener Pastures, but she um would was always with us in licenses committee representing MPD.

8:37

Um, and I said this already, but I want to say it again.

8:40

I've I've been watching Lieutenant Velasquez um as a leader on our near south side.

8:45

Um District 2 was in my district.

8:47

Um so since she was a rank and file rookie cop, I like to say I knew who she was, and I don't know that she ever knew that I was I I saw her and I was watching her and I was admiring her as a Latina in the force, as an out um openly queer individual in the police department, and the work that she does now to lift up not just herself and her beautiful family, her wife and her children, but her community.

9:14

Um it is very dear to her.

9:15

I see her at every single event.

9:17

Um, she's at the events that I'm not even at, and I just want to thank you so much for showing up every single time.

9:23

And this promotion is well well deserved, and how lucky we are that you call Milwaukee home, Lieutenant Velasquez.

9:29

Happy Pride.

9:42

And next, another individual that we want to recognize is Aaron Rice.

9:48

Aaron Rice is not a Milwaukee native.

9:51

He moved here.

9:52

If we want to grow our community to a million residents, we need to embrace and acknowledge that we have to grow.

10:02

While Aaron, when Aaron came to Milwaukee, he immediately identified nonprofits that he wanted to serve and help on.

10:11

And he's been on the board for the LGBT Community Service and LGBT Community Center and United Way of uh United Way Engagement.

10:24

Um, I'm not reading this very quickly.

10:26

I idea committee for visit Milwaukee.

10:28

Um, and there was another one that I can't remember, but um, when people come to our community and become a part of that fabric of our community, we have to embrace, welcome, and celebrate them.

10:40

So, uh, in his job and his day job as chief development officer at Feeding America of Eastern Wisconsin, he helps advance the organization's mission, serve all individuals experiencing food insecurity, which is something this council cares deeply about.

10:54

Um, and he and uh that also includes members of the LGBTQ plus community, um, where nearly one in five experience poverty.

11:05

Thank you, Aaron, for moving to Milwaukee, making that choice.

11:08

Thank you, Milwaukee for embracing him, and Aaron, thank you for embracing our community as your new home.

11:16

Thank you, Erin.

11:26

Our last honoree uh today is Courage Plus.

11:31

Courage Plus has made an immeasurable contribution to Milwaukee because they care about kids that otherwise would not have a home.

11:46

And these kids, frankly, come from all over the state.

11:50

So for the last 11 years, Burge Plus has helped foster and embrace young people who have no home.

12:02

What more of a Milwaukee idea would bring?

12:06

And recently, they purchased another home in my district on the southwest side of the city, and to be transparent, a lot of the neighbors were concerned, but once neighbors understood what the organization is, but it isn't, and the benefit that they bring to the community, most of those neighbors were overjoyed at support and becoming the Southwest side and to the 11th Aldermanic District.

12:36

So today, um, offers a wide array of uplifting programming, including housing support, advocacy, writing scholarships and grants, and offering education, training, and support, nonprofits, organizations, business out businesses, allies, and anyone wanting to learn.

12:53

They've been here since 2015.

12:55

They work to provide safe and inclusive housing, trauma-informed care, cater to the LGBTQ plus community, education and reliable data supported thought leadership, the goal of giving LGBTQ plus youth a sense of community centered around care, safety and acceptance, while bringing about real systematic systemic change.

13:18

The common council of the city of Milwaukee here with recognizes Courage Plus as a 2026 Pride Month honoree and thanks them for their continued work in the community.

13:27

Thank you, Brad.

13:38

We have to acknowledge celebrate.

13:47

All of our contributions all year long.

13:50

And if you're not a member of the LGBTQ Plus community, you can be an ally, be supportive, but you can also be an accomplice.

14:00

Happy Pride month, everyone.

14:08

We'll do a group we'll do a group photo.

13:59

If you have a plaque in your hand, join us in the front.

Um, just want to comment on the confirmations items 23, 24, 25, 627, um, that um I um really am looking to the um MMSD board to do every single thing it can to investigate some of the allegations that have come forward regarding um, um and I I really do I have faith that my colleagues here will work to serve the people's interest by investigating those and and conducting an audit.

31:38

Um, and I, um, you know, some of those people, some of the people individuals were present at public works, and I received, I believe, some assurance from them.

31:46

So I don't want these two, these appointments to not go through because we uh we as the city of Milwaukee appoint the majority of that board, and we should have our people seated as soon as possible so they can begin the work.

31:58

And that's why I didn't object in committee, but I do have um concerns about what I've heard in the news media, and I just urge, you know, the colleagues here and um everyone else that we're appointing um to um begin um an investigation and even an audit.

32:16

Uh there's been a calls for an audit by a specific agency.

32:19

I'm not hung up on what agency conducts the audit, but I am hung up that we um do everything we can to investigate allegations of that provider um as we're looking as we have the contract open right now and for proposals from a different provider or more potentially that same one for the management of the system.

32:36

I just want us to investigate fully um everything there, so I want to make those opinions known.

32:40

Thank you.

32:41

Thank you.

Any further discussion?

37:15

Chair recognizes Oliver Brower.

37:17

Yeah, thank you so much, Mr.

37:18

President.

37:18

For item 39, um, I really appreciate the work that uh Frederick Workforce Health is doing with our comprehensive wellness program for our employees.

37:25

I think it's worth just noting um just what a state this world is in right now that we as the employer need to even be concerned with our employees' health.

37:35

Really, if frankly, if we think about it objectively, it's really none of our business what um employees, what kind of healthy attitudes employees have or healthy habits they engage in.

37:43

I mean, that's really up to them as their own independent person.

37:47

Um, so we do need to do this though, because I I would agree with doing this because we are burdened with the cost of providing them health care.

37:55

Um, and I just want to say, you know, just out loud right now that it is worth in the future and working towards a United States where we have a Medicare for all system where we as a as an employer, and we're not even the largest employer in the city, where we as an employer don't have to shoulder solely the burden of providing health insurance for our employees.

38:15

It should be a collective responsibility provided by the federal government through a progressive income tax where the millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share.

38:23

Um, and I just I just want to note that I think like I really do, it on some levels it does irk me that we're like telling our employees how what to eat or what kind of how many steps they should take and all that stuff.

38:34

I mean it like it's really none of our business in the end, but I just want to know that the way out of this is for us to have a federal government that's going to provide health insurance for every single American, regardless of where they work, not tied to where they work um and paid for by the millionaires and billionaires.

38:48

Thank you.

38:52

40:48

And the judiciary and Legislation committee recommends disallowance and indefinite postponement of items 53 through 58 claims against the city.

41:13

Is there any further discussion of the committee report?

41:15

Mr.

41:16

President.

41:17

Chair recognizes Alderman Borgellis.

41:19

Thank you.

41:19

Please add my name to 43 and record me as a no on 44.

41:27

P uh Alder Member Gellas's co-sponsorship of 43 and a no on 44.

41:32

Chair recognized Alderman Brower.

41:34

Thank you so much, Mr.

41:35

President.

41:36

I wanted to speak to item 43, which is a very important piece of legislation that we have before us today, along with the rest of this council's efforts to stop ICE.

41:49

And I will just say that we as a body have been extraordinary amongst common councils across the country in passing and speaking to and furthering legislation to do everything we can at a local level to get our community ready for ICE.

42:05

I'm really proud of the work that this council has been doing in the city of Milwaukee, and I appreciate the mayor signing our legislation as well.

42:12

Um the resolution before us today that was before Judd Leg last week is a resolution that calls out the arrest and detention of Alvira Benitez.

42:23

I do actually have a motion, Mr.

42:24

President, that I'd like to make because I have a substitute.

42:27

Um given the fact that there were some changes in the ground.

42:29

Um what is the best procedure?

42:31

Should I make that motion now, Mr.

42:32

President?

42:33

Okay, thank you so much.

42:33

And I'd like to speak to as well.

42:35

Um I move to replace substitute one of common counsel file number two six zero zero zero six with the attached proposed substitute and further move passage of the uh um it says ordinance here, but I believe it's a resolution, resolution as a substituted.

42:51

Okay, uh the uh motion by Alderman Brower is a substitute amendment, and any objections to that substitute amendment.

42:59

Hearing none, the floor is yours, Alderman Brower.

43:02

Yeah, thank you so much.

43:03

Um, you all have a copy on your desk of the substitute resolution.

43:06

Um, some of the facts on the ground changed, as you guys know.

43:10

Uh Elvira Benitez um has been here in the United States, a resident of Sheboygan, a fellow Wisconsinite, has been here in the United States for over 30 years and has now twice been abducted by ICE.

43:23

It is incomprehensible, uh, it is is immoral what we are doing to our immigrant friends and neighbors in this country, and there is no law, there is no law that required Elvira Benitez to be detained while she is awaiting her path to permanent residency here in the United States.

43:43

She's posted bond.

43:44

She was held and detained, as it says in the resolution for over two months and subject uh subjected to arm and ankle sack shackles.

43:51

And um recently, a judge has ruled that um Elvira was allowed to post bond, and she has been uh released now from ICE custody.

44:00

And I actually wanted to point out that she is in the audience here today.

44:03

Um, Elvira, would you please stand with your husband?

44:05

Thank you so much for speaking out.

44:08

Thank you so much.

44:10

Thank you.

44:21

Thank you so much for speaking out because so many of our immigrant friends and neighbors are afraid to speak out.

44:27

It breaks my heart, and I appreciate every single individual who does speak out and is willing to let you let us put a spotlight on you and raise your story up because it's a story that so many people in this country are experiencing.

44:40

It it it breaks my heart what's going on here.

44:43

It is that the actions of the Trump administration must be stood up to, and I was so proud that our judiciary and legislation committee passed this um resolution unanimously.

44:53

Um we declared in this resolution that the cruel and unnecessary detention of mothers, laborers, caregivers, and longtime community members who pose no danger to society.

45:04

Um, we have declared that in this resolution, that action to be a profound and absurd waste of taxpayer dollars.

45:12

And I know that us passing a resolution here this morning isn't gonna change the facts on the ground for the tens and tens of thousands of people who are in ICE custody illegally right now.

45:23

But if we do not raise our voices, then we then our silence is a contribution in a small way.

45:28

Our silence would be a contribution to part of the problem.

45:34

So today we're taking action.

45:36

Thank you.

45:36

Yeah.

45:37

Today we're taking action.

45:29

And even though it's a small amount of action, it is an action worth taking it as an action.

45:44

We're speaking to.

45:45

I really appreciate uh council leadership here and the leadership of the judiciary legislation committee um for having us consider these resolutions for continuing to support these things.

45:54

Thank you to the co-sponsors.

45:56

Um, and I just wanted to just say thank you to everybody and thank you, especially to the members of the public who took time out of their busy days this morning to come and observe the passage of this resolution.

46:05

Thank you, Mr.

46:06

President.

46:06

Thank you.

46:07

Chair recognizes all the personality but.

46:10

Thank you, Mr.

46:11

President.

46:12

No, I'm I'm wearing this Wonder Woman t-shirt today, Mr.

46:16

President.

46:16

And I'm sure you probably thought it was an honor of pride month, and um that is true, but I also wore it because it reminded me of Elvira Benita's our very own wonder woman today.

46:30

Elvira is home in the great state of Wisconsin with her husband and her children and her friends and her neighbors.

46:37

The Trump administration's decision to detain her at a federal prison in Kentucky is outrageous and unacceptable.

46:46

A judge had already previously ruled that Elvida should be granted a green card when the Trump administration intervened because their goal is to further Trump's xenophobic anti-immigrant agenda.

46:59

I want to in particular make sure that my fellow Latinos take note of what Trump and his administration did here.

47:07

Elvira is a wife and a mother to four U.S.

47:11

citizen children, she is a business owner, an entrepreneur, like so many in our community are.

47:18

She's an active member of her church in Mekwan.

47:22

Trump made a campaign promise that he would only deport the criminals.

47:28

This is proof positive that he sees this amazing woman, this pillar of her community, Elvira Benitez as a criminal.

47:37

If you are an immigrant, Donald Trump and his administration want you gone.

47:48

Now, I want to thank Alderman Brower for authoring this resolution today, and I want to join him in expressing my gratitude to the Jet Like chair chairperson Alderman DeAndre Jackson.

48:01

Um he didn't have to schedule this.

48:03

Alvira is a Wisconsinite, but she's from Sheboygan.

48:06

So I really really want to join Alderman Brower in saying thank you so much to the Jet Light committee to the chairperson for being willing to schedule this and to the members for being willing to hear this.

48:16

And I asked my colleagues to join me today in voting for this and to Elvira.

48:21

Yesterday, after your ICE appointment, I walked out with you, and you said thank you to me.

48:27

But all the gratitude goes to you and your family because you fought and you advocated for yourself and for your freedom.

48:38

Your fight will make it easier for the next immigrant family who is fighting for their own lives right now, and your fight will help us to bring so many more immigrant Wisconsinites back home where they belong.

48:49

Gracias.

49:00

Chair recognizes uh Oliver Dmitrievich.

49:03

Thank you so much, Mr.

49:04

President.

49:05

Um, I first rise to join you.

49:08

Um, I'll be abstaining from item 46, which is 260091.

49:14

Um, and I could understand how that could be um interpreted differently.

49:23

Um, but I am abstaining because I do believe um that the estate of Haley Lynnville deserves more than uh what was offered.

49:34

Um I'll leave it at that.

49:35

It's a legal matter, but um we need to continue to hold um people accountable.

49:41

Too many lives have been lost, and quite frankly, too many women in particular.

49:46

Um, I'm seeing uh not receiving the standard of care that they need to from the city of Milwaukee.

49:54

Furthermore, um, on um the item before us, um, I on item 43 uh on a lighter note, I am proud to be a co-sponsor and the comments of my two colleagues, Alderman Brouwer and Alder Person Zamaripa, who just so you know the kind of colleagues that we have, stood by Elvira's side.

50:18

You know, we don't hear that story all the time, but the courage that it took first of all for Elvira coming out of detention.

50:28

She mentioned um to Wisconsin Public Radio that when she was in the Kentucky facility, the food she served was served, the medical care she didn't receive, and furthermore that she was along serving other in along other inmates that were serving for non-immigration-related offenses, and they were mostly mothers separated from their children.

50:56

That is totally unacceptable.

50:59

And Elita's courage, could you imagine walking into that ICE appointment yesterday?

51:04

And my two great colleagues being able to stand by her side is more than symbolic.

51:09

It's an example of how the city of Milwaukee will continue to stand up every time.

51:15

Someone said to me, are we gonna do this, you know, all the time?

51:19

Aren't we getting tired?

51:21

Yes, we're going to do it any time that our constituents, our neighbors and our friends are separated from their families.

51:28

I hope we never have to do it again.

51:29

And no, we're not tired, we're actually fired up.

51:32

And so I just think that it was exceptional that we were there to stand in solidarity, that we as a body are standing up in solidarity.

51:41

These things matter to the other families, the other mothers, anybody living in fear.

51:47

That is not the way for the city of Milwaukee to thrive, and we are doing just the opposite to make sure that our people are safe at all times.

51:54

So I wanted to add my name, I wanted to add my support, um, and I really wanted to speak it into the record, the conditions that are being faced by our own neighbors.

52:05

Neighbors is the word, sitting with other mothers separated from their children.

52:10

We've also seen the children treated terribly, um, predominantly in the Texas facility.

52:16

This is not okay, and I just truly thank my colleagues for allowing us the time and space to continue to fight this fight.

52:23

And like um Alderman Brouwer mentioned, this council has led by real policy.

52:31

It is not easy in this environment.

52:33

We have also been threatened.

52:35

We have our funding threatened, we have the biggest bully in the White House threatening us, and we keep standing up and doing it together because there is solidarity in numbers, and we do have the support of the people.

52:46

So thank you.

52:51

Let the record let the record reflect uh Alder Woman Demetrius' co-sponsorship of item 43.

52:58

Chair recognizes Alderman Westmoreland.

53:01

Uh I was not present uh at the last Jake meeting, so please listen to me as an abstention for items 44, 45, 46.

53:10

Let the record reflect an abstention uh by Alderman Westmoreland for 44, 45, and 46.

53:16

Chair recognizes Alder Woman Taylor.

53:20

Thank you so much, Mr.

53:21

President.

53:22

Um I just wanted to um just say I appreciate uh my colleague uh Alex Brouwer for uh for standing up and speaking out um against ICE.

53:34

I wanted to appreciate um my other colleagues for what they have just said regarding um the separation of families and tearing families apart.

53:46

It's such a tragedy when um we see families torn apart and trauma that is put on children unnecessarily uh and so because of that um because uh it is that that tragedy does exist and trauma is created.

54:07

Um I would like to join you guys on uh signing up for uh co-sponsoring item number forty three.

54:15

Let the wreck reflect the woman Taylor's co-sponsorship of item forty three, chair recognizes Alderwoman Moore.

54:21

Thank you so much, Mr.

54:22

President.

54:22

I think all of my colleagues have um said it well.

54:26

Um if we don't stand up for our families, it's going to.

54:29

So please add me as a co-sponsor to item number 43.

54:34

Thank you.

54:34

Let the record of co-sponsorship of Alderman Moore 43.

54:39

Is there any further discussion of the committee report?

54:44

54:47

54:50

I just want to just share really quick that I had an opportunity to participate in the Red Cross Sound the Alarm event that happened this past Saturday.

1:17:23

And when I tell you, when I think about what we did going into homes, installing smoke detectors, providing the education, it was really life-changing for me, because this one little device can literally save a life, particularly with the stats that we have about the just the many families and individuals that have lost their lives in fire.

1:17:44

So it was very humbling for me, and probably even more humbling.

1:17:49

My carbon monoxide detector went off the following day.

1:17:52

I was just like, oh crap, I got, you know, education on what to do in case of a fire.

1:17:57

Uh, but you know, I think I followed protocol and what to do in case of a carbon monoxide um warning.

1:18:05

So I was grateful to just have that device um in my home um to warn me all is well.

1:18:10

Um, everyone in the house, um, thank goodness um evacuated, call the call 911.

1:18:16

Shout out to um MFD um for coming and um supporting us around that.

1:18:30

It'll take place between 53rd and 54th street on Washington Boulevard.

1:18:35

Those things are always really, really huge events in um Washington Heights.

1:18:39

Um, also the neighborhood I live in, Merrill Park.

1:18:42

Um, we're having a huge block party on 29th and Clyborne on June 13th.

1:18:48

I want to give a huge shout out to District 3 and particularly Officer King, who spearheads um, he's one of our CLOs that spearheads this block party um in partnership with the Near West Side Partners, um Safe and Sound, um, and Merrill Park neighbors.

1:19:04

It's always a really good time.

1:19:05

So we want our neighbors to come out and celebrate with us.

1:19:08

Um, also in the district, um, safe at, you know, again, you all hear me talking about young people all the time.

1:19:15

Um, St.

1:19:15

Charles is kicking off their 2026 safe summer celebration on June 8th from 12 to 3 30 at their location.

I had the privilege and honor of having a better understanding of the highest priority that my constituents and residents throughout the community have shared with me of public safety earlier this week when I did a 24-hour tour with Engine 24 with the Milwaukee Fire Department.

1:22:09

We've done a lot of us have done Firefighter for a day where you go into the smoke room and you um uh learn how to hold the hose and spray some cones or something, but living and breathing just half of a regular shift, a 24-hour shift with firefighters in the barracks on the engine, responding to calls for service.

1:22:30

We responded to 20 calls for service in that 24-hour period with uh uh a wide range of calls from medical to an actual fire.

1:22:41

It wasn't all that big uh and was quickly taken out, uh, to a swatting call or fire.

1:22:48

We saw everything.

1:22:53

Uh uh even a shooting and a trip to uh freighter uh bringing that person who uh thankfully is able to recover.

1:23:01

I encourage everyone in this chamber to do the exact same thing, if not for 24 hours for 12 or for six.

1:23:12

Eat uh we yeah, we ate with I ate with the firefighters, helped make the meal, um, helped make the meals.

1:23:19

Um, it's it's an eye-opening perspective when the call came in that a four-year-old called mom that their house was on fire.

1:23:32

I've never seen firefighters move that quickly.

1:23:37

So, uh encourage all of you to learn more about the first responders in our community.

1:23:45

Uh, the best place to do that is the fire department and uh engine 24.
