Portsmouth City Council Work Session: OLDCC Flood Resiliency Study Presentation - March 25, 2025
This was a public work session of the Portsmouth City Council held on March 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The session featured presentations from city staff and consultant partners, primarily focusing on the Office of Local Defense and Community Cooperation (OLDCC) flood resiliency grant. The meeting opened with roll call (all members present), introductions by City Manager Stephen Carter, and an overview by Dr. Rhonda Russell of the Planning Department.
Presentation: OLDCC Flood Resiliency Study
Dr. Rhonda Russell introduced consultant partners supporting the OLDCC resiliency grant effort, which has allowed the city to study major thoroughfares that support the shipyard, the course of Magel Hospital, and the many employees traveling to and from the shipyard for employment. Three team members were present: project manager Mrs. Kirsten Tinch, and presenters Mr. Hines and Mr. Corlett, who have supported public presentations and engagement efforts for the grant. Dr. Russell advised that the grant performance period ends at the end of the month, with all deliverables required by that time, and approximately 90 days after for expense closeout. The presentation covered the study's scope and objectives, but the transcript cuts off before completion; no further details or council discussion were recorded.
