Tonight is Monday, November 11th, 2024.

And I call the regular city council meeting to order.

First off is our invitation, Pastor Wood, Pastor Kim Wood from the Avenue Church.

Please join us if you want.

Stand for the prayer, and then we'll be the Pledge of Allegiance.

Each issue that's going to be presented before the council.

God, we pray that it would be presented fairly and clearly.

We pray for discernment and wisdom for this council who have been elected to govern over us and for us.

And so we pray for favor and our wisdom.

God, we also want to give you great thanks for all the veterans that have served our country.

And as this day is Veterans Day, God, we we thank them and honor them.

And we also ask for your protection of all current uh servicemen and women who are in dangerous uh way uh overseas as well as uh here at home.

We pray for our law enforcement and for our first responders, our fire.

Uh God, we just pray for their safety and their well-being as they're out on the streets taking care of our city tonight.

So, God, we thank you for this opportunity.

We pray for um uh ears to hear and uh hearts to listen, and in all things, God, for the good of our community in Jesus' name, amen.

And to the Republic for which it stands.

One nation, your God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

So this is a proclamation for law enforcement records personnel week, november 4th, 38th, 2024.

Whereas dedicated law enforcement records personnel are crucial to assisting law enforcement agencies in identifying, pursuing, capturing, and processing suspects.

And whereas Pueblo Police Department records personnel diligently serve the community of Portro by exhibiting professionalism, efficiency, and compassion during the performance of their essential duties.

Now therefore, we need the City Council of the City of Pueblo, Colorado, by the authority vested in us to hereby proclaim the week of November, November 4th to 8th, 2024 as law enforcement records personnel week in the city of Pueblo and join in recognizing and expressing our appreciation for the behind-the-scenes work of law enforcement records personnel as they serve the Pueblo community at large and in multiple capacities throughout the police department.

And witness where I have hearing two set my hand and cause the seal of the city of Predalo, Colorado to be affixed this 11th day of November 2024, signed by Nick.

Congratulations.

Whereas law enforcement officers, firefighters, public service utility, emergency medical personnel, road crews, and tow operators conduct valuable and often life-saving operations at the roadside.

And whereas these on-seen personnel provide a critical public service and recall to duty at all hours of the day and night in adverse weather conditions and in a dangerous roadside environment.

And whereas public responders use traffic incident management training skills, training and skills to safely and quickly clear scenes to improve the safety of our road users.

And whereas, as of September 23rd, 2024, during this year, 28 first responders that were working on the roadway have been struck and killed, including 13 law enforcement officers, three fire EMS professionals, seven tow operators, one road safety profession professional, and four department of transportation workers, two of which were Colorado DOT employees.

And whereas one death is too many.

And whereas drunk, drug, drowsy, distracted, and dangerous drivers are a threat to our respondent safety.

And whereas the city of Pebble asks all road users to do their part to keep everyone responding to traffic incidents on our highways safe, slowing down, moving over, and driving safe.

And whereas the state of Colorado has a new waiver law requiring drivers to slow down and move over when approaching an emergency vehicle, a tapework or a highway maintenance vehicle, the purpose of rights are activated, and whereas there is a need for public to be educated dangers of failing to abide by these laws in the week of November 18th to the 22nd is recognized nationally as Crash Responder Safety Week.

Now, therefore, we the City Council or the City of Pueblo, Colorado by the authority vested in us to hereby proclaim the week of November 18th to the 22nd, 2024 as Colorado Crash Responder Safety Week in the City of Pueblo and urge our citizens to reduce your speed as you proceed.

In witness where I have hearing two set my hand and cause the seal of the city of Pueblo, Colorado to be affixed this 11th day of November 2024.
