The Board of Adjustment met on June 26, 2019, to consider the approval of previous meeting minutes and a variance request from Harvest Dispensary of Tempe. Due to a request from the applicant, the variance was continued to the next meeting. The board also corrected the initial vote on the minutes and approved them with abstentions. Staff provided updates on future meeting locations.

The motion passed 6–0 (with one board member initially abstaining, later corrected to unanimous). The case will be heard on July 24, 2019.

Welcome to the Board of Adjustments for June 26, 2019. I'd like to start by um introducing our members of the board and our city staff that we have with us. To my left, we have uh board member Jack Confer, board member David Noggle, Board Member Kevin Cullins, I am Chairman David Lyon. To my right, we have board member Joshua Tracy and Board Member Robert Miller. We also have with us Brittany Nelson, Karen Stovall, Steve Abrahamson, and Ryan LeVake in our audience. We have two items of business on the agenda tonight. First is approval or rather consideration of meeting minutes from our May 29th meeting. We have reviewed these minutes and found no edits to be made. So I would uh entertain a motion regarding the approval of those minutes. Do I hear such a motion? I move forward. I move for the approval of the minutes. Okay. Motion to approve from board member Nogg. Do I hear a second, please? I second. And motion to second from board member Collins. All those in favor by show of hands, please. And those in abstention. Alright. So motion passes five zero with uh board member Miller in abstention. Alright, so we'll move on to our other piece of business. Um before we dive into things, perhaps should we just entertain the continuance? Um, just so I get it on the record here. Absolutely. Adam Bott with you more, 2525 East Arizona Billmore Circle. Super. Thank you for granting me the opportunity to speak. Um a matter like this is often time sensitive and it requires, I think, a greater degree of deliberation. The challenge here is without a full quorum. Excuse me, you have a quorum without a full um member of the available seats present. It makes it a little more challenging case to present. Um quite frankly, a three-three split puts me at a no. And I think um the nature of this case would be more appropriate for the presence of the whole body if available. And at that request, I'd like to entertain if you'd be willing to consider uh continuance 30 days to the next approximate hearing. Certainly, I consider that a wise decision on your part. Um, not that there's any different disposition, but being down one member of the math doesn't help you. Alright, so our uh our appellant or applicant, sorry, has requested a continuance.
