Summary

Social Service Human Relations Board Meeting – May 28, 2026

The Social Service Human Relations Board (SSHRB) met to approve minutes, hear public comments, and debate a proposed scope of work for fiscal year 2026–27. The discussion revealed deep divisions over governance, the board's relationship with Housing and Human Services (HHS), and the appropriate structure for subcommittees. A motion to adopt the scope with amendments passed 4–2, but the board opted to refer the document to a small working group for revision before a future vote. (Note: user-provided meeting date is June 1, 2026, but the transcript clearly states May 28, 2026.)

Consent Calendar

Provided an information guide and survey. Position: Informational, not taking a position on board action.
