2:18Entonces, Blue Street está in the mediocre.
3:34Nosotros estamos aquí in the fase three.
3:50Hicimos algunos options of the pop-ups.
4:35So with that document, no.
5:00So one of the Christian señal, el objective is on algunos temas sobre cómo se está presentando sobre el processor.
5:16Christian, ya lo puedo.
6:01So as we think about those decisions.
6:10Yes, of the city, the proprietarios, desarrollers, or the community.
6:33Maybe not next slide.
6:42So this is a this is sort of a high level overview of the case.
8:20And I think that's really important as we think about the ability.
8:54But the absorption of this market will take much absorption of the 49th.
10:48So the tiendas of next slide.
11:08So parks and open space.
11:10Um parkers and personal can this is expertise that I instead in the salon.
11:22I think infrastructure, no one at big parks, but we don't have neighborhood parks between the two.
11:56In the depositive where we started, no, we have started this process initially Christian process, no guiamos, tomamos decisiones revisando lo que estamos viendo.
12:37And applying them to you the board.
12:40And to try to apply, no hard to see very long.
13:26Yes, when we are important.
13:52This is former landmark ball.
13:58So home front, this is Fox Chase.
18:09And then of course including valleys, we have to really integrate in esto integrated.
19:08So we started by looking at the existing conditions in the order to help us understand areas of higher environmental risk and help us understand where we can implement.
20:12Um the southern queay dos lugares uh the map the masries one is in the ladoested y el second is in the lado sur centrales de alta frequencia stand correlacionos con this picture no se filtra bien in quando el agua no se filtra in el suelo que también influenza um otra factor the riesgo that's a lot of in much pavimento so we're going to solution is we didn't want to just come up with ideas and all the projects we want to talk about the integrated the mobility transportation part to solve flooding and then we additionally want to come up with short term medium term and long term options or the first thing we need to come up with was great infrastructure and planting trees along roadways um one of the big things we found was roads with structures and place really hard to treat so one of the things we will suggest and is planting trees along the roadways where possible in turning mediums or high media since we green infrastructure using either stormwater or make me its place to plant the trees roadways are more harder plant trees but important to find the space for try to do so then to follow into that we also suggested taking a random towies and marrying them for underground utilities is open up space for mature trees one of the things we found with dew street is since it runs east and west it gets increased solar exposure because the sun rises that's in the west um so when we were looking at what's ways to met trees and five space a lot of the areas that did have trees were also where it's red already telling and with that these trees were a cut shorter when there were some species I don't really have to provide on canories so opening opening up these spaces to allow these trees to be more mature create a larger canopy is one of the more long term recommendations.
22:41But like small medium soil can have short uh growing species that can have the storm water runoff and up control uh storage as well and then with green roots one of the big issues we want to really focus on was what buildings have this infrastructure in place so the month options which we came up with full roots so where we couldn't really necessarily have a green root for solar we want to come up with the option of either having a light color group or we use white paint or white layers to kind of reduce that heat absorption and then the last uh big one we came up with was promotional mixed use development so including commercial residential same aspects maintain connectivity to our roots basically and then additionally still using green building practices so energy efficient buildings again storm water BMPs instead of just stormwater runoff going from parking lot to the storm trains we want to use stormwater that is to a vegetative soil where we can produce nutrients and maintain the stormwater runoff before it does reach what silver um we have a QA period at the end so I would suggest that you just are middle scientists in our uh pressing office I will back around the stormwater management here report here and all this well as all this sound stormwater track okay perfect thank you uh Kelly and C president um we have part sticking around so again as you guys are thinking of questions feel free to write them down and scriverlas in las cartas vamos a tener una session de periodispa entonces el último aspecto antes de cambiar a mobilidad studies and we're looking at some of those studios ambientales las difficulty about things from like our sustainability benefits over the beneficios de la sustainability sustainability our colleagues were insinuating uh finding nuestros colleagues y el cambio puede ser affectado atravesado y lo que requerimos de ellos especialmente
25:02But necessitamos about our sustainability benefits.
25:12Our colleagues were insinuating that they're finding colleagues that lose y el cambio através de los desarrollos and ellos, especially standards that actually standards.
26:13Of course in the building urban plan with things that are close in relation to one another promote your environment because you're walking housing and jobs and transit and all kinds of neighborhood amenities.
26:28So a lot of things kind of naturally natural uses and especially keeping things flexible, neighborhood serving people have less and especially mobility providing more opportunities for different kinds of transmobility for the different types of transport.
26:49And then of course green building and stormwater and this but with all new buildings that Kelly Trevor edificios from our plan and the ultimate planet.
27:48We have Dana Martin who is our senior transportation engineer from the city and then we also have our family transportation control team as well.
27:57So before we dive in on more of the traffic analysis and what we're seeing we wanted to start out by summarizing what we have heard throughout this planning process and I think a lot of these teams are going to look at the case of traffic resuming bastante familiar process and extreme consistently much of the process a top priority for people in the community for the gente transport in bicycleta maneuver street Duke Street is one of the seguras ahí no importa in como escuchamos que el corredor tiene different barreras fornectivity como una calle conectada siempre se siente como una barrera entre varios designable vecindarios options once darle different options a las personas para poder andar por ahí más facilites in a pie or on bici or in transit or in un vehicle but the person options area looks like sometimes it's hard to preocupy consistent for much a yeah in nuestra ciudad consistent
32:45And they're gonna force me to stand back here and the folks at home.
32:49Um we want uh we can solve the card.
32:52We partner off with the city though, and we think that's a question that require some thoughtful responses.
32:58So I'm at least important city once again on a process that I find really exciting.
33:03Um I'll share with you, I do a lot of work national, not just here in the DC area.
33:19And you should expect that as presidents and business sellers that possible to be made and solving committees, and so I appreciate the well-made that's happening.
33:29Now normally when I get asked in the community to take a look at things, it's all the same.
34:45I think everyone would agree.
38:2635 is velocidad límite.
40:23Obviamente tenemos que tener infrastructure for bicycletas.
41:54But then we can control, no, and what's going to happen differently, no?
42:38But then particularly no queen, Quaker, the Telegraph, and the conversation for no one mágica, no prioritize.
44:21Decision is already in Alexandria.
44:36It's pretty clear, we're in the middle of it.
44:38It's in the cause stress in algunas portions of the corridor de Duke Street.
45:01Well, if it's a track, you contemplate uh attractives for other gentlemen of the region.
45:24You don't really know, but the good news is that allows us to look at this because much data is the specificity, no so without further ado, daily trips.
46:11Alguno is in quantum uh some deos and uh destinos of viage, yeah.
46:34Some providers of data enters model predictives can permit replica uh differential those data transportation incredibly precisely unfacsimil or models much complicated for data for Senado, but for folks who want to sell things, but also planning the history.
47:16Press a button supposed to build technical assistance button and sustenance technical mathematical, but effectively travel transportation professional pico y es peor in all the bajo, no and so we took a look at the area into Quaker Lane and Telegraph and significant.
48:38Can you repeat that just a minute?
48:41Sir, you want to make the point again?
48:43So there we call regional there is not anywhere in the same arrow and works very much.
49:18Does this surprise anyone?
49:44In Charleston, another mayor Rio Riley in Charleston is a mayor for urbanista for a period of tempo.
49:54He also said don't happen by accident.
51:22So evaluation when we build something on the layout.
52:00Let's look at it through that lens.
52:02Let's see what lose in 2025 compared to 1992.
52:42No cambios that's proponent.
52:56I'm using this as an illustration because there are multiple examples that could be used.
53:28We know that this works because this is how most of our urban places function.
55:08Esperamos mejor seguridad.
56:01We also know that we're introducing more travel choices.
58:07There will be activities on the engagement.
1:00:26I want to just speak what helped so yes, actually it's just the same time.
1:00:31Yeah, but there are some other floor.
1:02:38This should have a lot of things.
1:03:01All right, every one.
1:03:05I know we all have lots of things to say.
1:04:07So first question is is the killer.
1:04:15So is it based on the approval by console?
1:04:18Short answer is yes.
1:04:32Um the entire speed is an environment at risk.
1:04:40Uh retaining existing tree can be how can we come back about this from our neighborhoods to the ground shade and provide adding the chain within a corridor in our neighborhoods.
1:04:52I think you know one of the things we are gonna find out this week is solid words trees are shaded temperature.
1:05:05So if we if we are thinking about what's attractive, what's usable, what's safe?
1:05:11These are always very much a safety issue and a health issue and our now issue for that one whole street tree.
1:05:18So we talked a lot about street trees in our sustainability discussion, not included investment, huge impact.
1:05:25Oftentimes we talk about sustainability with very expensive endeavors, trees are not that by huge impact, so great question.
1:05:34I think the short answer is build it in your plan, make the recommendation on strategy soccer.
1:05:40Um take your kids to school and bikes of the students, uh nor can you go to the birthday shopping to the doctor on the other side of town unless they're active company in transit, um, where there are no more than two.
1:05:59So one of the things I would say I think Hillary C and we're alluding to this as well.
1:06:05This this plan is not saying that um as close to that as possible.
1:06:10This plan standing, um, this plan is not saying that you are not all that it's saying is we want to give people out.
1:06:21So we could be on transit, you could say las personas, it's para darles options and you're just providing more options.
1:06:40Nada más is brand options for lasers that transport que yous car.
1:06:54So uh we get this a lot.
1:06:56Why are we paying consoles to help the city?
1:06:59And and one thing is um number one, I would say, and I think this is real bad that sort of key review.
1:07:07Okay, here's a here's what we're looking at.
1:07:09Are we getting this right?
1:07:10Is there another thing of it as we're working on projects, another set of eyes looking at it?
1:07:16Did we miss something?
1:07:17Did we get it right?
1:07:18It also enables us to sort of implement this plan in a sort of time-sensitive way that's a lot of the things you purchase then.
1:07:27Is it wise to have high goals for sustainability, like things like rain roots can't read writing, etc.
1:07:38and bringing add to development costs as we're focusing on how to affordability?
1:07:43So um one of the things I'm gonna address that because it's a great point.
1:07:53That's really our whole plan.
1:07:55And so one of the things that we think about sustainability, for example, we have large warehouses on you're at one of the things you might do is have a hydrogen reflective room.
1:08:06So encourage owners as they are putting in new groups, if it's not a platform, maybe it's a reflective route, which helps their energy costs, and also can have people to forget.
1:08:17So it doesn't necessarily high cost options for thinking about sustainability, or actually talking to a lot of business owners about things like that.
1:08:25So what are the high cost interventions and what are some low costs that are saying?
1:08:31Um are there any down, baby here?
1:08:33Because I'm gonna are there are there any things?
1:08:39I don't follow the directions, but I'll be a problem with those are there any things in this plan that reduce greenhouse gas efficient.
1:08:47So um great question.
1:08:49I think one of the things as we think about sustenability is queues jumpando and pieces.
1:09:06When you put all those things, so I would argue when you we are doing all the significant impact significantly some closes.
1:09:24Excellent, I love it.
1:09:31So there's some other people who would probably support that as well.
1:11:23So that we're seeing it.
1:11:37What is being addressed?
1:11:56This is para desastro.
1:12:16Maybe they don't have to via la tienda in the car, no?
1:12:22Quizás sería mucho más fácil.
1:12:30But when we análisis de traffic estamos viajes, anda y el retraso in the sections.
1:12:43So I much at the Alexandria para poder resolver the grand mana del traffic.
1:15:10But via traffic for Alexandria, is Stephen.
1:15:43Because if we have three signals because the gentleman at Duke Street va llenarse nuevo, and tomorrow residenciales, no, maybe autobuses or carrots solamente.
1:17:20We don't need the model it as much as it's like following it as a very navigation.
1:17:33But it's important in this era modern transportation, in established time talking about the added time.
1:23:12Vamos a tener esos trafficos top, y eso nos va a poder hacer algunos cambios futuros at the correct and then cookies that we have in what tendency that would be present anterior muestra que in Wheeler Avenue.
1:23:45So the negotiations and planes densidad and permit limited, no question pequeños y es un centro para ellos, no.
1:24:40Entonces, enquanto los standards arboles, el arbolado entonces consiste cuando se puede in industry and crecimiento inquietado.
1:26:32El plan is a big plan to 20 años.
1:26:47Alexander Alexandria preocuped the increment of the impuestos.
1:26:56I think one of the things I would say increasing taxes is uh incrementando political concept of the city of the plants is not desarroll into si mismo.
1:27:19And those other things from the community not for so uh start dentro of the page impact.
1:27:46Look at no, try to be in their cars people are gonna use transit in carrots y si van uh transit public.
1:28:33I think one of the equippers compared donde share stuff with us support based so one of the comparten is one of the comparative si estamos in this process, then trabajando in the numbers yes, is there a better way to underground utilities so they don't create trip hazards over a lifetime and is there a day lighting setback or tree can be able to do it?
1:29:17There are standards for undergrounding uh subterráneo, standards and buenos examples y obviamente no buenos ejemplos y creo que lo más importante is como need or plants and it's the same as all the examiner dispute as a comment uh comprometer utilizar uh tier natives or plantas uh polinizadoras tenemos guías electricity sustenable you know we've done sort of district by energy, we've done sort of geothermal discussion.
1:30:38Lo importante is pensar como podemos cobrir y ahorrar energía y estar estable, tener technología estable.
1:30:52Have you calculated the amount of public investment needed to get inversion public?
1:31:04I think one of the things that you bastante inversion is that is public private private va a ser el incentivo del desarrollo que se pague.
1:31:33So that'll be wonderful.
1:31:35I'll try to be quick.
1:31:37During the meeting meetings regarding deep street motion, there were suggestions to add a second lane to the ramp or deep street east, telegraph road.
1:31:44What happened to that idea?
1:31:45Well, going eastbound.
1:31:48If you are coming eastbound and you want to get right onto the si van al Este, si están venando del Esteban meterse en la rampa, no se puede.
1:32:16But yes, Westland is the entire street transit way project.
1:32:29No metro, pero si carries de bus.
1:32:42But yes, that is a major structure project for us.
1:32:52Should we expect the limit to be dropped or lowered?
1:33:05In this moment, this street to uhise calles.
1:33:36Will there be a closed bus stop seating protection from wind, rain, even sun heat?
1:33:41Uh it's the part of the street in motion plan.
1:33:45We have an amazing team that has been doing our bus station designing across it.
1:33:50They looked at all the different directions of the wind, the sun, and they have a designing the main station that really tried to make them as comfortable for people based on the hacerlo tan como basando la ocasión y puede ser para tener este flujo de aire in el verano, sombra in el verano, protection del viento, protection de elementos en el invierno.
1:34:28So if you're interested in finding the sixth interest in encontrar uh mapas que Hillary acabed mentioned, we can control the Duke Street.
1:34:44You can control all final.
1:34:47I probably do enlaces because I'm going to try quite interaction that process planamento.
1:35:00I'm trying quite part of the interaction queue a little of this process of planning.
1:35:05Read the summary of the size.
1:35:09If you would like to read through the raw data leaders, is there an interest in a preguntable Miller Avenue?
1:35:31I think logical question there's more density to the sound.
1:35:37I think our part of the surface is the business owners.
1:36:15So the rent and affordability on Wheeler Avenue is really really important.
1:36:19So we made a decision not increased in technical no incrementar.
1:36:32You guys are out there, you experience them.
1:36:34So we are please visit our website.
1:36:37We're trying to get it updated really, and that's where we are posting all of our information.
1:37:24You can pick what number you might want to insert there, but the bigger issue is whether or not you're coordinating your land use with it.
1:37:37Uh and vice versa.
1:37:38And so again, my message tonight is really about that coordination that's kind of taking place right here right now.
1:37:45Um what other options besides congestion pricing and sends us research regional traffic?
1:37:52And I think you know, generally speaking, we have a lot of conversations tonight.
1:37:55The design of the street, whether it feels welcome for regional travel or not, has a huge influence on whether or not you attract regional traffic.
1:38:04Um so I would argue that one of the biggest things literally is how much version there may be and what kind of travel speeds can be anticipated as being really the largest influencer on that regional traffic.
1:38:18Um here's an interesting one that I think relates to the design.
1:38:22Can we use parallel traffic bombing in residential streets to help reduce any impacts from improvements to Duke Street?
1:38:31And I believe that uh that should be your expectation, right?
1:38:34You have traffic bombing programs here, so if it's observed that that's a problem, or potentially part of the implementation process, you could be uh proactive and install some of that at the time, so you're trying to get in front of that.
1:38:49That was a good idea.
1:38:50And then I'm gonna make one last attempt at uh another question related to trip chair.
1:38:55So the question is can you explain a bit more about how different types of development and have different traffic impacts?
1:39:01My rule would be an absurd example, but it is relevant.
1:39:05Uh apartment complex.
1:39:06Someone else has a similar question and was trying to understand apartments generate more traffic, clearly.
1:39:12Um but if we were to compare a set of apartments in comparison to something simple like the gas station, I want to remind you we don't need to find a trip X.
1:39:21If someone goes to the gas station, it's a trip that comes in, they fill up, they leave.
1:39:27That's a second trip.
1:39:29Similarly, an apartment complex populated with people that have varied responsibilities in labs, and a lot of folks are working.
1:39:37So in the morning, for example, you would expect to see a large percentage of folks would be exiting their apartments and going to work.
1:39:45That's true, they're generating traffic.
1:39:47But while they're gone, they're not generating trips like that commercial land use throughout the day.
1:39:55That's why mathematically statistically we see higher trip generation during the peakers, especially for those commercial land uses.
1:40:36We've got really good certainty about trip generation characteristics.
1:41:17So I know it's late, I'm in mindful of everyone's time and acceptable.
1:41:21Um first of all, I want to thank you tonight.
1:41:23Um raise your hand again.
1:41:34I'm uh again, thank you.
1:41:38Contacting uh uh Christian, ESTC.
1:41:54This is not a technical expectation by talk, which but they have to go to the project.
