About the service
OpenPublica is an independent project run by Isaac Torres to make public local-government records easier to explore. It is not a government agency or an official publication. These terms describe how to use the site and its account, search and Inquiry Desk features.
Check the official record
AI-generated summaries, transcripts, topic labels and Inquiry Desk answers can be incomplete or wrong. A summary may be based on an agenda rather than a recording of what happened. A missing search result does not establish that a meeting or document does not exist.
Use meeting records and their source links where available, and consult the responsible government’s official website, published agenda, minutes or recording to verify information. OpenPublica’s generated material does not replace those sources or professional advice.
Accounts and responsible use
Use a sign-in method you control and keep access to it secure. Do not impersonate others, access someone else’s private account, bypass access controls or disrupt the service. Only submit material you are entitled to share, and avoid putting confidential information into public search or Inquiry Desk.
Saved cities personalize your feed; they are not a subscription to official notices and do not guarantee timely or complete coverage. You can remove saved cities or request account deletion from Account. The privacy page explains how account information, browser-local conversations, logs and backups are handled.
Suspension for abuse
We may restrict or suspend access for impersonation, unauthorized access, attempts to bypass protections or conduct that disrupts the service. Contact us if you believe access was restricted in error.
Availability and reuse
We do not guarantee complete records, uninterrupted access or the accuracy of generated material. Source documents and externally hosted media may have their own reuse conditions; check the original source before reusing them.
Changes to the service and terms
We may change features or these terms as the project develops. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
