At its regular meeting on March 4, 2025, at 6:30 PM in the City Hall Council Chamber, the Arlington City Council approved a consent agenda (with one item pulled for public comment), held public hearings and voted on six zoning cases, and gave first reading to an ordinance amending the Wrecker Operations Chapter. The meeting adjourned at 8:05 PM.
All consent items except 7.3 were approved unanimously (9-0). Item 7.3 was approved separately after public comment.

I want to invite one of my favorite ministers of all time, Miss Kate McGee, to come on up and lead us in an evocation, please rise. Thank you, Mayor and City Council. I am Reverend Kate McGee from Westminster Presbyterian Church. It is a privilege to be with y'all. Let us pray. Continue to sustain and uplift them in the leadership of our wonderfully diverse city. From the possibilities of farmer markets and mental health programs to public hearings on zoning cases, we ask God of imagination that you keep minds and hearts open to new opportunities in our city. Help us stay focused on the differences we can make, on the good we can create, on the light we can share in the work that lies before us. May we continue to lift up the American dream of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, not just for some but for all of your beloved children. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, your son and our Savior. Amen. Please join us in a pledge of allegiance. We're gonna do a proclamation tonight, whereas public procurement organizations uphold the highest standards of honor and integrity to earn the trust of government agencies and the public and ensure prudent use of taxpayer dollars. And whereas procure I'm gonna struggle with procurement all night long. Whereas pro Lord have mercy. Thank you. Thank you. Focus on efficiency and effectiveness and procure Lord Crewe, why can't I say it? Purchase. Purchasing goods and various constructions and professional services. We're starting the night off good, aren't we? Managing contracts, developing strategies, and fostering relationships with suppliers and internal departments. And whereas the city of Arlington adheres to the public procurement guiding, I did it. Guiding. Oh, look, they're gonna put an explanation mark on all of my messing up. Count I love my council up there. Guiding principles of accountability, ethics, impartiality, professionalism, service, and transparency, and promotes an open and competitive business environment, ensuring equal opportunities for all suppliers to partner with the city. And whereas March is designated as procurement month by the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing to raise awareness of procurement professional roles. Whereas the City of Arlington celebrates the contributions of procurement professionals who promote economic development and ensure responsible stewardship of public resources. Now, therefore, I, Jim Ross, mayor of the City of Arlington, do hereby proclaim March 2025 as procurement month. Easy for me to say, right? Congratulations. Let you say a word. Mayor, Council, uh, city staff, Trey, we appreciate all the support you continue to give us as a department when we're trying to implement policies and procedures to ensure that we are adhering to the highest level of transparency and integrity with everything we do here in the city.
