Arlington Planning and Zoning Commission Plat Session – August 21, 2024
The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Arlington convened a regular plat session on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 5:30 PM in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 101 West Abram Street. Chairperson Dr. Ignacio Nunez presided. All nine commissioners were present: Chairperson Nunez, Commissioners Blake, Sumpter, Finley, Ware, Payne, Greer, Carter, and Maddox. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Commissioner Finley and remarks on decorum. The session focused on approval of prior minutes and two consent agendas with no public speakers or extended discussion.

- Approval of Minutes (August 7, 2024 Plat Session): Moved by Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Finley. Approved 8–0 with Commissioner Maddox abstaining.

- Replat – Great Southwest Industrial District, Site 8A and 8A-1, zoned EDO-IM, north of Avenue H East and east of North Watson Road, address 1110 North Watson Road.

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Dr. Ignacio Nunez. I serve as chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Arlington. I hereby call this regularly noticed meeting of the City of Arlington's Planning and Zoning Commission Platte agenda for August 21st, 2024 into session. At this time I'm going to ask Commissioner Finley to lead us, please, in the Pledge of Allegiance. So please stand. And to the Republic for the stands. One nation under this justice for all. Thank you. At this time, I will ask our administrators to read the speaker guidelines and general decorum. The City of Arlington fully embraces the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility where people of all identities and experiences are understood, appreciated, and fully included in the community and where equitable treatment outcomes prevail. We ask that the citizens and other visitors in attendance assist in preserving the order and decorum of this meeting and to provide for attendance and participation in the meeting without fear of intimidation, threats, or hostility. Any person making personal, profane, hostile, slanderous, or threatening remarks who uses vulgar or obscene language who engages in any other actions that disturb or are calculated to disturb the meeting or who becomes disruptive while addressing the planning zoning commissioners or while attending the planning and zoning meeting may be removed from the council chambers. All speakers shall address the commissioners and not the audience or city staff and shall not call out individually named members of city staff or the public. For speakers tonight, when your name is called, please come to the microphone at the podium and state your name and city of residence for the record. The applicant will be asked to speak first and will be given ten minutes to make a presentation. Speakers and supporter opposition of the item will be given five minutes each to make their statements. If there are many speakers for an item, each speaker will be given three minutes to make their statements. The applicant will then be given five minutes for any rebuttal. If multiple speakers plan to provide the same or similar comments, those speakers may, if they so desire, designate one or more individuals to provide public comment on behalf of the group. We ask that you address your comments to the planning and zoning commissioners. Thank you very much. Next item is to approve the minutes of August 7th, 2024. Copy of the minutes of that meeting of August 7, 2024 of the Plat agenda or sent to all of the commissioners in advance. Were there any changes or corrections needed to the minutes? Seeing none, uh may I have a motion to approve the minutes and a second. We have a motion to approve by Commissioner Payne and a second by Commissioner Finley. Please cast your votes. Motion passes eight to nothing with one abstention. Now moving to the consent agenda. Tonight we have three uh overall platts on the consent agenda under plants, plats to be approved with conditions. We have a final plat for the villas of web edition. We have a replat for Veridian Village 3C. We have an amending plat. Lakeside at Veridian Collins East Phase 1L. An amending plat, Lakeside at Veridian Collins East Phase 1L. We have a minor plat of the Bratato edition, and we have a replat of the Inc. Arlington Properties Edition. Do we have any speakers on these items? Seeing that there are none, uh I'd like to have a motion and a second to approve the consent agenda for items to be approved.
