Arlington Planning and Zoning Commission Plat Agenda Meeting – February 5, 2025
The Planning and Zoning Commission of Arlington, Texas, convened for a Plat Agenda meeting on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 5:31 PM in the City Hall Council Chamber. The meeting lasted only a few minutes and included the approval of previous minutes, one consent agenda item (an amending plat with conditions), and one extension request under Texas Local Government Code. - Minutes of January 8, 2025 Plat Session Agenda – Approved by a motion from Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Blake. The vote was 8–0.
Consent Calendar – Plats to be Approved with Conditions
- Amending Plat – Turner Ridge (zoned Planned Development for residential medium density; located south of East Turner Warnell Road and east of Matlock Road, approximate address 200 East Turner Warnell Road). Commissioner Greer moved approval, seconded by Commissioner Ware. The motion passed 8–0.
Consideration of Extension Requests (Texas Local Government Code §212.009(b-2))
- Final Plat – John Stephens Addition, Lots 1 & 2, Block A (zoned Residential Single-Family-7.2; located north of West Pioneer Parkway and west of North Cooper Street, approximate address 1918 South Cooper Street). Commissioner Blake made a motion to approve the extension request, seconded by Commissioner Payne. The vote was 8–0.

I serve as chair of the planning and zoning commission for the city of Arlington. I hereby call this regularly noticed meeting of the City of Arlington's Planning and Zoning Commission Plat Agenda for February the 5th, 2025 into session. At this time, I'm going to ask Commissioner Greer to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Please stand and please please rise. This is two flag of the United States of America. And with that, I'm going to ask our administrators to please read the speaker guidelines and general decorum for how the meeting will be meeting will be functioning tonight. The City of Arlington fully embraces the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility where people of all identities and experiences are understood, appreciated, and fully included in the community, and where equitable treatment and outcomes prevail. We ask that the citizens and other visitors in attendance assist in preserving the order and decorum of this meeting and to provide for attendance at and participation in the meeting without fear of intimidation, threats, or hostility. Any person making personal, profane, hostile, slanderous, or threatening remarks who uses vulgar or obscene language, who engages in any other actions that disturb or are calculated to disturb the meeting, or who becomes disruptive while addressing the planning and zoning commissioners or while attending the planning and zoning meeting may be removed from the council chambers. All speakers shall address the commissioners and not the audience or city staff and shall not call out individually named members of city staff or the public. For speakers tonight, when your name is called, please come to the microphone at the podium and state your name and the and city of residence for the record. The applicant will be asked to speak first and will be given ten minutes to make a presentation. Speakers in support or opposition of the item will be given five minutes each to make their statements. If there are many speakers for an item, each speaker will be given three minutes to make their statements. The applicants will then be given five minutes for any rebuttal. If multiple speakers plan to provide the same or similar comments, those speakers may, if they so desire, designate one or more individuals to provide public comment on behalf of the group. A bell will signal the end of each speaker's time. In consideration of other speakers, please conclude your comments promptly when you hear the bell. We ask that you address your comments to the planning and zoning commissioners. Thank you very much. With that, a copy of the minutes of our January the 8th, 2025 plat agenda were sent to all of the commissioners in advance. Were there any changes or corrections that were needed to those minutes? Hearing none, do I have a motion to approve the minutes? And is there a second? I have a motion to approve by Commissioner Payne and a second by Commissioner Blake. Please cast your vote. Motion passes unanimously with one abstention. Thank you. Do we have any speakers on this item? No speakers. Do I have a motion to approve the plat on the consent agenda plat to be approved with conditions? This is the amending plat for Turner Ridge. And I have a second as well. I have a motion to approve by Commissioner Greer and a second by Commissioner Ware. Cast your vote. Motion passes eight to nothing with one abstention. Or one absence, excuse me. Yeah. It says one, yeah. And that's true on the first. That's one absence and cut. Tonight we have one plat on the to consider an extension request submitted by the applicants pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Section 212.009 paragraph B2. It's entitled Final Plat John Stevens Edition. Do I have a motion to approve the plat on the items for an extension request? I have a motion to approve by Commissioner Blake. Second by Commissioner Payne. Please cast your vote. Motion passes. There being no further business listed on this Plat agenda, I hereby adjourn the Plat agenda meeting. We will now have a brief pause while we reset our computers and get ready for the regular session agenda.
