Meeting Transcript

I serve as chair of the planning and zoning commission of the City of Arlington and I hereby call this regularly noticed meeting of the City of Arlington's Planning and Zoning Commission regular session to order for May the 13th, 2026. At this time, I'll ask our administrator to read the speaker guidelines and general decorum for tonight's meeting. We ask that the citizens and other visitors in attendance assist in preserving the order and decorum of this meeting and to provide for attendance at and participation in meeting without fear of intimidation, threats, or hostility. Any person making personal, profane, hostile, slanderous or threatening remarks who uses vulgar or obscene language, who engages in any other actions that disturb or are calculated to disturb the meeting, or who becomes disruptive while addressing the planning and zoning commissioners, or while attending the planning and zoning planning and zoning meeting may be removed from the council chambers. All speakers shall address the commissioners and not the audience or city staff and shall not call out individually named members of city staff or the public. For speakers tonight, when your name is called, please come to the microphone at the podium and state your name and your city of residence for the record. The applicant will be asked to speak first and then will be given 10 minutes to make a presentation. Speakers in support or opposition of the item will be given five minutes each to make their statements. If there are many speakers for an item, each speaker will be given three minutes to make their statements. The applicant then will then be given five minutes for any rebuttal. If multiple speakers plan to provide the same or similar comments, those speakers may, if they so desire, designate one or more individuals to provide public comment on behalf of the group. A bell will signal the end of each speaker's time in consideration of other speakers. Please conclude your comments promptly when you hear the bell. We ask that you address your comments to the planning and zoning commissioners. Copy of the minutes of our April 29, 2026, regular agenda meeting were sent to all the commissioners in advance. Were there any changes or corrections needed to the minutes? Hearing none, do I have a motion to approve the minutes? I do by Commissioner Maddox. I have a second by Commissioner Greer. Cast your vote. Motion passes seven to nothing. We have one uh zoning case, PD 25-08, located at approximately 2100 Southeast Green Oaks Boulevard. It's an application for approval of a change in zoning from community commercial uses to a plan development for for community commercial uses plus a car wash with a development plan on approximately approximately 1.295 acres. Prior to the meeting, the applicant requested continuance to the June 17th, 2026 meeting. This will require a vote by the commission. Do I see a motion to continue this meeting to June this applicant to June 17th? I have a motion to approve by Commissioner Blake. Commissioner Blake, would you state your motion, please? June 17th. I'd like to make a motion for continuance. CD 25-08, 2100 Southeast Green Oaks Boulevard to June 18th. June 17th. And Commissioner Finley, is that your second? Yes, it is. Good. Uh cast uh there being no further speakers. I will now officially close the public hearing and ask the commission for any questions, comments, or uh regarding this. Seeing no other questions or comments, cast your vote. Motion passes 6 to 1. Thank you very much. Are there any other uh reports uh from any other boards or commissions? Any reports from staff? anybody want to make any announcements other than my I have a my softball team is losing. I have a losing season for the first time in 25 years. Yeah, I'm continuing to lose.
