The Baltimore County Council held its second work session for the upcoming Legislative Day 8 on April 2, 2026. The meeting covered appointments, donations, contracts, and several legislative bills. No final votes were taken; most actions are scheduled for the legislative session on April 6.
All right, well, Chris started the recording, so we we can start um yes, yes, Ms. Councilman Marks is having technical difficulties and I'm trying to help him with an issue. Okay. Okay, thank you. We still have a quorum. Sorry, Mr. Chair. Um, he's gonna log off and log back on, but he said to go ahead and proceed. My apologies. Okay. Okay. All right, I'm sure he'll be on in a minute. Okay, all right. Well, we're gonna get started. Uh welcome everyone. This is the um the second work session for legislative day number eight that is coming up on April 6th. Um first up, and I think I don't know if we're covering this today, Mr. Secretary, but we have an appointment to the Baltimore County Adult Public Guardianship Review Board of uh Mr. Ermer, who I believe was here. That's correct, Mr. Chairman. Um Mr. Ermer was at the March 10th work session. Uh he was not able to attend the March 16th confirmation vote. So we held uh that over until uh Monday's April 6th legislative session. So uh he essentially has already been before the council, so we did not ask him to come back for today. Okay, so we will um we will uh see him for his confirmation on April 6th. Yes, sir, that is my understanding. Okay, so then uh next up we have a reappointment uh to the Board of Appeals. This is uh Councilman Jones appointment. Um what's a reappointment for Councilman Jones of uh Miss Sharon uh Bernardi and uh Miss Bernardi is with us. She's got her seal in the background and everything. So Ms. Bernardi, did you do you wanna uh say or Councilman Jones? Did you want to say a few words and then let Miss Bernardi have the floor? Yes, Mr. Chair. Uh Ms. Bernardi uh comes with a tremendous amount of experience and uh private sector and the public sector, mainly the public sector, and it is just a joy to have her on the um on the board, and she's extremely knowledgeable and fair and has done a fantastic job representing our community in Baltimore County on the board. So I am very honored and with it with great sense of pride. I uh re-nominate her for the position. Okay, well, thank you, Councilman Jones. Um Ms. Bernardi, did you you want to just say a few words? Tell us what you like about being on the board of appeals, what you don't like. Whatever you want to tell us, sorry. Thank you, Mr. Chairman, and of course I want to thank all other members of the council. And what I would like to share is that I'm a long time public servant. I served 30 years with the state of Maryland.
