The Beverly City Council held a special meeting on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 6:30 PM in the council chambers at 191 Cabot Street. The meeting focused on three public hearings for funding transfers and a National Grid petition, along with routine appointments and waivers. All items were approved unanimously (7-0) by the close of the meeting, which was the final scheduled session before the summer recess.
Okay, thank you. Good morning. Good evening. Wow. Good, whatever it is. Hello, everybody. Thank you so much. And good day. That's right, Councillor Crowley. Thank you for joining us here. This is a special meeting of the city council, largely for the purposes of three public hearings on matters that it would be good for us to be able to take action on before the summer recess. But we do have a few other routine business matters also on the agenda. So counselors will work through those items as well, but we will begin with the public hearings at the times that they're posted. If there are members of the public here or watching, I'm Bev Cam now and headed here. There are sign-up sheets for the public hearings on the table to my right by that door to the council chamber. Your left if you're sitting facing us. And you can add your name to those at any point should you wish to speak in one of these public hearings. As always, thank you to Kim in the Bev Cam booth for making sure our meetings are streaming and accessible so folks can join us from wherever they are. We appreciate you, Kim. Appreciate our BEVCAM partners. So with that, I'll officially call to order this special meeting of the Beverly City Council, Thursday, June 25th, 2026, 6 30 p.m. Ms. Kent, will you please call the roll? Crawley? Gentlemen, Houseman? Ratondo, Sonia, Spang. Say hilarious and flowers. Here. Thank you, Ms. Kent. Counselor Sonia, will you please lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance? To the flag the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. One nation under Liberty and Justice Strong. Thank you very much, Councillor Sonia. So we'll go right to our first uh agenda item, which is a 630 public hearing on Order 166. Um we'll officially open that. Uh Ms. Kent. Order 166, City of Beverley order that the city council of the city of Beverly hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 25th at 6 30 p.m. 191 Cabin Street, third floor council chambers. Relative to a transfer request of $1,500,000 from the road servicing account into the road and sidewalks capital account to pay for resurfacing work. And this was in the newspaper on June 17th.
