Morning to the members of the council, members of the public, all of those under the sound of my voice have a very brief mayor's report this morning.

First of all, city closures on Friday.

All City of Birmingham offices, with the exception of police fire at 911 will be closed on Friday, July the 3rd in observance of the 4th of July holiday.

No trash or recycling pickup will be affected.

The mayor wishes everyone a safe holiday weekend.

Also, Thunder on the Mountain, Alabama's largest Independence Day fireworks display will take place at 9 p.m.

on Saturday, July the 4th, above the Vulcan Park and Museum.

The 20-minute show will pay tribute to America's 250th birthday and will feature more than 2500 fireworks shells synchronized to a patriotic soundtrack broadcast across local radio stations.
