Great.

0:33

Well, our first order of business will be the consent agenda, which is quite long tonight.

0:37

I would like to point out that two of the public hearings that were to be held tonight are now on consent agenda and uh will be rescheduled for the July 2nd public hearing.

0:52

The consent agenda consists of a zoning ordinance amendment 44, request to amend the town of Blacksburg zoning ordinance to allow requests for additional building height and limited educational facilities in downtown commercial district by conditional use permit.

1:09

Also on the consent agenda is rezoning 1900 two, a request to rezone 37.5 acres of land, formerly known as the Blacksburg High School at 520 Patrick County Drive.

1:38

Also we'll be uh rezoning 1903, a request to amend ordinance 1840 for Stone Gate 2 apartments at Boroughs Drive.

1:48

Also, we'll be rezoning 1901, ordinance 1892 request to rezone 5.5 acres in the R5 Transitional Residential and General Commercial Zoning Districts to Planned Residential Zoning District on North Main Street.

2:06

That was to be heard tonight and will be rescheduled for July 2nd.

2:10

Also a comprehensive plan review pursuant to Virginia Code 15.2 2232 of the proposed connection of Graves Avenue within the town of Blacksburg to serve a proposed subdivision of Gummery County.

2:25

That was also scheduled for tonight and will be rescheduled for July 2nd.

2:30

Do we have a motion?

2:33

I'll move approved.

2:36

Second.

2:37

All those in favor?

2:39

Aye.

2:41

Great.

2:42

Moving on.

2:43

We have no public hearing for tonight.

2:46

Both the hearings were rescheduled for the second.

2:50

Again, that's the 5.5 acres on North Main Street to Planned Residential and the Comprehensive Plan Review on Graves Avenue.

3:04

Moving on to citizen comments.

3:06

Seeing no citizens present tonight, we'll move on to unfinished business.

3:11

The zoning ordinance review committee.

3:14

We have been meeting and we will be bringing the zoning ordinance amendment proposal to you at the next work session as stated in the consent agenda.

3:28

It involves allowing greater building height and limited education facilities for colleges and universities in the downtown commercial district by uh conditional use permit.

3:41

And basically, this is because of the um is it is instigated by the uh redevelopment of the Buffalo Wild Wings Commercial Area.

3:54

Great, thank you.

4:00

Uh Montgomery County Planning Commission.

4:03

I attended the May meeting and they met to review site plan for proposed subdivision at the top of Graves Avenue above the golf course, proposed 59 homes, I believe.

4:15

It's possible it could be more than that, and they approved that site plan, and I guess we'll be talking about it next month with regards to the um comp plan review of that project with specifically with regards to the road leading up to it.

4:34

Great, thank you.

4:36

Um town council report.

4:41

Uh sure.

4:42

So we had a work session today.

4:43

We have um two upcoming uh public hearings that are meeting next Tuesday on June 11th that might be of interest.
