The Blacksburg Planning Commission held a regular meeting on April 6, 2021, at 6:30 PM in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers. Chair Andy Kassoff called the meeting to order, with Commissioners Colley, Ford, Herbein, Jones, Kassoff, and Rinehart present; Commissioner Davis was absent. - CUP 21-0001: A request to combine previously-approved conditional use permits (CUP 11-0002, CUP 11-0007, CUP 16-0002, and CUP 18-0002) at Kent Square (202 and 250 South Main Street) to increase the maximum allowed ground-floor medical and general office square footage in the Downtown Commercial zoning district. The applicant is Aaron Harris of Pointe West Management, on behalf of Kent Square, LLC and Pointe West Management Co. The commission voted unanimously (6-0) to approve the consent agenda, scheduling a public hearing for May 4, 2021.

Welcome to the regular meeting of the Blacksburg Planning Commission, which are held here in the hedge path uh Roger E. Hedge pass chambers on the first Tuesday of each month at 6 30 p.m. Due to COVID 19 health concerns, seating in the council chambers will be limited. Citizens are encouraged but not required to submit comments to the planning commission by email and view the hearing online or local television, WTOB Channel 2. The meeting will be live streamed from WW Blacksburg.gov and recorded. Citizens may address the planning commission at specified times on the agenda and are requested to adhere to the following. Please speak at the podium, state your name and address. Please limit speaking time to the maximum of three minutes. Speak only once during a specific hearing or comment period. Please silence all cell phones, show respect for all speakers, and allow all opinions to be expressed in a tolerant manner. With that, we'll call the meeting to the order. And tonight, our first item on the agenda tonight is our consent agenda, which is C UP 21001, which is a request to combine previously approved conditional use permits, C P eleven Zero Zero Two and C UP 11007. C UP 1602 and C UP 18002 at Kent Square at 2002 and 250 South Main Street. Moving on, tonight we have no public hearings. Council received that, encouraged them, so that's moving forward. And council today had the last session to look at the comp plan, and that should be uh in front of us uh next week for approval uh to finish out the comp plan. Wonderful. Thank you for that report. Is it exit expected that bear wook will come back before planning commission? Um I believe it's in front of the town council next Tuesday night.
