The Blacksburg Planning Commission held a regular meeting on August 5, 2025, at 6:30 PM in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers of the Municipal Building. The meeting was brief, lasting approximately three minutes, and primarily addressed consent agenda items, with no public hearings, citizen comments, or substantive unfinished business. All seven present commissioners voted unanimously on the consent agenda.
Welcome to the regular meeting of the Blacksburg Planning Commission, which are held here on the first Tuesday of each month at the Roger E. Headpass Chambers of the Blacksburg Municipal Building. Citizens may address the planning commission during specified times on the agenda and are requested to adhere to the following. Please speak at the podium, state your name and address, direct comments only to the commission. Please limit speaking time to a maximum of three minutes. And speak only once during a specific hearing or comment period. Please silence all cell phones, show respect for all speakers, and allow all opinions to be expressed in a tolerant atmosphere. With that, we'll call the meeting to order. May we have a roll call, please. Mr. Bright. Mr. Cass. Mr. Cassie. Ms. Reinhardt. Ms. Walker. Here we have a quorum. Thank you. First item is our consent agenda. We have four items on the consent agenda. The first is the approval of the planning commission minutes from July first, twenty twenty-five. Proposed action is to approve. Second is rezoning twenty-five six, Yellow Sulfur Spring Apartments, PRD rezoning request at three five oh three holiday lane. Previously rezoning twenty-five four and revised with additional acreage and bedrooms. The action is to schedule a public hearing for September 2nd, 2025. And the fourth item is rezoning 255 Tech Terrace PRD rezoning request at 305 and 309 Webb Street. And the proposed action is to cancel the August fifth, 2025 public hearing and reschedule for September 2nd, 2025. Okay. All those in favor? Aye. And that'll be rescheduled for the uh second uh September 2. Uh now we'll move on to citizen comment. See you hearing none. We'll move on to unfinished business, zoning ordinance review committee. We have not met. Definitely the report. Montgomery County Planning Commission. I was on deck for July and wasn't able to be there, so I'll make sure to watch it and report back to you guys.
