Blacksburg Town Council Regular Meeting Summary - April 26, 2022
The Blacksburg Town Council held its regular meeting on April 26, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers of the Municipal Building. The meeting focused primarily on the adoption of the FY2022/2023 budget (Ordinance 1984) and amendments to water, sewer, meter, and solid waste fees (Ordinance 1985). We will begin this evening with our consent agenda, and that consists only of approval of town council minutes for April 12th and for April 19. What is council's pleasure on the consent agenda? We have no public hearings this evening. We have time for citizen comments for anybody who would like to come forward. Seeing no one, we will move on to our unfinished business, some of the most important business of the year, and that is uh our town budget. Um we will begin with ordinances 1984 and 1985. At our meeting on April 12th, two council members read disqualification statements regarding ordinance nineteen eighty-four. And these members will not be voting on parts of that ordinance. So now we'll take up ordinance nineteen eighty-four. I move approval of amended ordinance nineteen eighty-four with the exception of items section four A I and Section 4A V and Sections six and seven. Those items will be voted on separately. Second.
