Uh Madam City Clerk, will you read the consent agenda?

Item two A, approval of December seventeenth, twenty twenty-four city council minutes.

Item two B, a resolution of the city council of the city of Brighton, Colorado, approving an intergovernmental agreement, IGA between the city of Brighton and the town of Loch Bowie for the Brighton Recreation Center pass program for Lochbue residents, authorizing the mayor to execute said IGA on behalf of the city and authorizing the city manager to undertake such tasks and execute such documents as may be required to implement said IGA on behalf of the city.

A resolution of the City Council of the City of Brighton, Colorado approving acceptance of an Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant JAG and authorizing the chief of police to sign the JAG grant agreement and any other public safety grant agreements from the federal government.

Lambert for your continued service do you want to say anything tonight just uh it's been a pleasure to serve and thank you for allowing me to continue to do so it's nice to see some familiar faces here Ann and Michael Tom thank you so much thank you okay next item up uh regarding the Turkey Trot donation to the senior advisory board Mr.

City Manager thank you mayor pro tem at this time I will ask our assistant director of recreation services Carlene Watts to come up and introduce our guest yes and it is big check time good evening Mayor Pro Tem members of council thank you for having us here I am so excited to be celebrating another great um turkey trot event we celebrated and hosted our 40th annual turkey trot event on November 23rd we set a new participation record um with a thousand two hundred and ninety-three guests there um walker's runners ranging from the age of one and a half to eighty seven years old were registered which is pretty cool we had the best weather we could ask for so I'm not I'm gonna knock on wood we get it again um but not going to hold my breath it was bright sunny 40 ish degrees and we started on time with over 70 people helping out on this race um were volunteers which is amazing um between staff and community volunteers we couldn't be more thankful for all the dish additional hands we had we also had 18 community partners who donated a range of things from money food items and their time this event is such an amazing showcase of what our community community can do when we come together and I just want to give a round of applause for Jacqueline Ramsey our race director who put it on and did a phenomenal job so and at this time I would love to have our Eagleview Adult Center guests come they are board members as well as Sue Corbet our manager over there to join us in accepting the donation of 2000 886 dollars and 57 cents so great job I'll go ahead and let Sue give a little blurp about our Eagleview Adult Center and then go ahead and let um her introduce the board members thank you so much it's been our pleasure to be part of Turkey Trap for several years not only on the receiving end of of the uh the generous donation but also we get to go and hand out burritos we buy the burritos hand out the burritos and who doesn't love a burrito after walking and running a race right um we try uh we meaning our senior advisory board yeah they're so this good they're very generous stewards of of money and what we really try and and concentrate on with with these kind of donations is to to look at the health aspects and how we can benefit the most people at the center.

So part of what we did with the money last year is one of our partners is visiting Nurse Association.

We uh contributed $4,000 and paid a portion of everyone's foot care for 410 people last year.

We donated uh $2,000 to Pennock Center.

Pennock, Jodi or her staff come and do free presentations, and we had 96 people participate in in mental health programs at the center last year.

We also have a partnership with VIA, which is the uh door-to-door transit uh that's for people that are our mobility challenged.

We offer free trips both to the center and from their home to the center and then back again.

So we contributed over $2,000 and provided 476 free trips to Eagle View for participants to get to our center to participate.

Um we also, as you know, purchased a new van.

Um I shouldn't say we, it's really them, but um we were able to purchase a new van for our our trip program, and which is one of our most popular um programs.

So thank you to uh the recreation center.

They came to us several years ago and said, What do you think about?

And it's like, well, heck yeah, let's go for it.

Um and it's it's benefited our community and and our older population.

I'd like to introduce some of the board members that I have here tonight.

We just had a meeting this afternoon.

Our uh this is Llewellyn Bromley.

For most of you probably know Llewellyn.

And next to her is Janet Olivia Olivier, sorry, Janet.

Janet is our newest member.

She was just elected, so she had her first meeting today.

Next to her is Bill Alstorf, and Bill um serves as the chairperson of our board and has served as that chairperson for gosh, probably 10 years, I would say at least.

And Randy, everybody knows Randy, right?

Randy Thornton.

Randy is also a member of our board.

Um, in addition to being on the board, our uh our board members also volunteer and are very involved in various aspects of the center.

So I'm proud to work with each and every one of them.
