It's my honor this evening to recognize the graduates of the second class of the Brighton Civic Academy.

Over the past seven weeks, these dedicated residents have taken time out of their busy schedules to gain a deeper understanding of how our city operates.

Through presentations, discussions, and hands-on learning, they explored many areas of government from budgeting and public safety to utilities, public works, community development, parks and recreation, and more.

Their curiosity, enthusiasm, and dedication truly reflect the spirit of civic engagement that makes Brighton such a special place to live.

Each graduate leaves this program with a deeper understanding of how our city works and how they can play an active role in shaping its future.

Thank you all very much for the opportunity for running this really amazing Civic Academy.

I've lived in countless cities and small towns across Colorado and Kansas and this is by and far one of the most important things I've ever experienced.

I learned a lot and I know that many in the class learned a lot too it was very fun and engaging with the entire group I think just having the opportunity to ask open questions of so many members of the government you know and your transparency was very very important to me as a resident and new homeowner bought my first home here in Brighton and am really loving the experience so far of living in the city of Brighton so thank you all very much for your openness and your honesty and transparency and for just giving us all the opportunity to come in here and learn about Brighton and Cinnamon we'd now like to recognize the graduates who are here with us this evening I'd like to invite the mayor and city manager to come down and we'll recognize each graduate individually take a photo and graduates when we call your name if you'll come up let me and any family that wants to take a picture take a quick picture and then if you'll just hang out at the end we'll do a group photo with all of our council okay all right first person up is Kimberly Allen is Jeff beginning is Janet Castro Family photo let's do it next next up Valeria Castro Block All right next up is Rihannin calling Michael before we before we get to reannon say that again oh we need to keep them in line here we'll get it figured out Rihanna Collins you're up next up is MK Colton All right next is Christina de Giorgio Laura Heim

Brighton City Council Meeting – November 4, 2025
