• Councilmember Jan Pulowski – Recounted her history in Brighton since 1967, describing the city as a "jumping off point of the world" with no recreation programs and poor water quality. She led the establishment of a Parks and Recreation Board, spearheaded a non-retiring 3/4-cent sales tax for recreation, served on council from 1996-2002 (including as Mayor Pro Tem), then as Mayor from 2001-2009, and later as County Commissioner.
