Counsel for the department.

3:05

Scott Davis.

3:07

Jason Latkowitz.

3:09

Charlotte Bible.

5:08

Uh one thing I do want to bring to the board's attention is that the uh list for the police recruit for November uh did not have the scores in uh what we provided to you, so I did bring copies uh if you'd like to have those to make your uh your consideration of the agenda items.

5:25

Any comments motion motion to approve the consent agenda, second move by Mr.

5:35

Smith, second by Ms.

5:36

Bible display, please.

5:44

Motion carries.

5:46

Next item of business will be of a communication specialist.

5:56

So this update for the class specification for communications supervisor.

6:00

Uh the intent of this is to uh broaden the uh eligible candidates for the position.

6:06

Uh as you know previously that uh communications had a progressive uh class series where you started off as a call taker and moved to a dispatcher, uh but now that is not a requirement.

6:18

So you have people that actually start their career in call taking and they stay in call taking, but they were not eligible to be supervisors.

6:26

Uh so the intent of this was to expand that so that people with relevant experience as a call taker that haven't been dispatchers are allowed to test for supervisor, and uh so the specifics of what was changed are in there for you.

6:41

Um, and uh I'm available for additional questions that you have on that questions or comments.

6:47

I have a question.

6:49

It looks like they all need uh communications training officer um experience.

7:00

Is that within their class?

7:02

I what is that?

7:04

So uh for communications uh that uh they do have that as an assignment, uh so it's not a classification.

7:12

Uh so uh anybody that that works there that is uh completed probation uh can uh be in that uh assignment.

7:20

And so that was added because uh they need to have that experience in order to be an effective supervisor, uh, and that gives them the the knowledge of uh both sides of the house.

7:33

Thank you.

7:34

Any other questions or comments?

7:36

Motion please.

7:40

Move to approve as submitted.

7:44

Second move by Mr.

7:46

Lefferwith, second by Mr.

7:47

Smith.

7:49

Cash your vote, please.

7:53

Motion carries.

8:05

Next item of business will be a probation extension.

8:11

Mr.

8:12

Markwell.

8:13

So for this probation extension, uh it is for uh Angela uh Silveroni, or so sorry, uh Silverali.

8:21

Uh so uh you have all the details there, but um this this employee um uh was recycled in the academy, and they're requesting to extend the probation uh to ensure that the person has uh the necessary uh skills to uh successfully complete the position.

8:40

Questions or comments?

8:42

I have a question.

8:43

So being recycled in the academy just is just for the training purposes.

8:49

It looks like it doesn't affect their um the dates for their uh probation or the extension, is that right?

8:58

So and and for specifics on that, we do have somebody from communications uh to discuss uh that item.

9:06

Um my name is Catalina La Torre, I'm a training manager for the communications bureau.

9:21

So it does not impact her uh her date of probation.

9:25

However, with the 12-month probation, putting her back into the academy.

9:30

The purpose of that was to reinforce her fundamental skills.

9:33

It did take 13 weeks away from any additional training time.

9:37

So she's completed the academy as of last week.

9:40

We have her back in floor training now, and extending the probationary period will just allow us to give uh her sufficient time on floor training to uh test her standards basically.

9:51

Thank you.

9:52

Appreciate that.

9:54

Any other questions?

9:56

Motion.

10:00

I move to approve the uh probation extension.

10:04

Second.

10:05

Moved by Miss Bible, second by Mr.

10:07

Lefowitz.

10:09

Case you vote.

10:13

Motion carries.

10:16

Item section four public comment.

10:20

Anyone wish to make a comment about any item on the agenda, please step forward and do so.

10:25

Hearing none and seeing none.

10:28

Section five.

10:28

This meeting's adjourned.

10:30

Everybody have a nice holiday.

10:33

Be safe.

10:35

You as well.

Summary of Proceedings

Clark County Nevada Board Meeting - December 18, 2025

The board convened on December 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM to consider routine consent items, a classification specification update for communications supervisors, and a probation extension for a communications employee. All agenda items were approved unanimously.

Consent Calendar

  • The consent agenda was approved by motion (moved by Mr. Smith, seconded by Ms. Bible) with no further discussion.

Discussion Items

  • Communications Supervisor Class Specification Update: The board discussed a proposal to broaden eligibility for the Communications Supervisor position by allowing candidates with relevant call-taker experience (but not necessarily dispatcher experience) to apply. The update also adds communications training officer experience as a required assignment. The board approved the change (moved by Mr. Lefferwith, seconded by Mr. Smith).
  • Probation Extension for Angela Silverali: The board considered a request to extend the probationary period for Angela Silverali, a communications employee who was recycled in the academy to reinforce fundamental skills. The training manager explained that the 13-week academy delay reduced floor training time, and an extension would allow sufficient evaluation. The board approved the extension (moved by Ms. Bible, seconded by Mr. Lefowitz).

Public Comments & Testimony

  • No members of the public spoke.

Key Outcomes

  • Consent agenda: Approved unanimously.
  • Communications Supervisor class specification: Approved unanimously.
  • Probation extension for Angela Silverali: Approved unanimously.
  • The meeting adjourned at approximately 10:10 AM.
