The Clarksville Town Council held its regularly scheduled meeting on June 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM local time. The meeting included public comments regarding the proposed annexation of 701 Potters Lane (Tri-County Shrine Club), consideration of the consent agenda with a corrected claims register, discussion and unanimous approval of the annexation ordinance, and amendments to the Arts Commission membership.
Okay, Council Mike's are going live. June 16th, regularly scheduled meeting of the Clarksville Town Council. If you would please join us and standing and saying the Pledge of Allegiance. And to the Republic, which is stands one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. We have a couple of folks who have signed up to speak before the council this evening. So first I would like to invite forward, and I apologize if I mispronounce your names. I believe it's Don Compton. My address is six fifteen Kingsbury Court, Clarksville. And uh two minutes, I understand. Questions I don't understand because I don't know how we know what question to ask you if we can't ask the question and can't hear what you're talking about before we ask the question, but that's okay. My first question is we live in the village of Waterford. Who is our representative? I believe it's councilwoman Henderson, Waterford. Yeah. You're our representative. Now are you tied to our district, or is it uh at large? Uh District Ford. So your district, not at large. Okay, good enough. Jennifer and Bob are both at large. At large. For that same area. Yeah, whole time. So two of you kind of represent us. All three of us. There's two at large and five districts. Okay, I'm not gonna burn my two minutes on that one. Okay, uh one question we have, and when this is way down the road from where we would like to be, but uh are you planning to put apartments in there? Is that the goal? No. No, no, no. We don't know, or what's the plan? No, we would not allow to go. What's gonna happen to the shrine club? If you you're gonna buy it, right? Maybe. No, the town is not buying it. Okay, you're annexing it, you've already done it. No, we're not annexed. This is an annex vote only tonight. Oh, I think the paper must have been wrong. Go figure. Anyway, um we're we're very interested in what is going to become of the shrine club. Um we were at a zoning meeting, and and this involves the whole traffic pattern, where they're gonna put 15 houses in. And the plat for that particular project failed to show a row of trees about 30 feet wide and somewhat close to 70 feet long. All those trees are under where the new houses are gonna go, supposedly. We were not told that. I don't even think he was told that, or at least under the impression that those trees were actually there. If you look at the plat real close, you'll see them under the plat. But our concern also is the uh used to be baseball diamonds down here are now soccer fields.
