We have two pieces of legislation today.

If uh the port and uh whatever we're calling DCA today is I can't remember it, and I refuse to commit it to memory.

Um we're gonna begin with ordinance number ninety-three twenty twenty-six uh by Council Member Slife and Griffin by departmental request, an emergency ordinance authorizing the director of port control to exercise the first option to renew contract number PS twenty twenty-five sixty-five with downtown Cleveland Alliance to maintain, manage, secure, and promote city owned properties at the North Coast Harbor, and to fulfill the common area maintenance agreement with the stakeholders of North Coast Harbor.

Um just want to highlight that uh this contract is paid through uh cam member contributions and the parking revenues generated uh down at North Coast Harbor.

That um I can turn over to Michael and he can tell you uh terrific.

Chairman, members of the committee.

Uh we uh appreciate this longstanding partnership that we've had uh with the city and being entrusted with North Coast Harbor.

Uh believe it or not, uh the downtown Cleveland Improvement District is celebrating its 20th year of service to downtown this year, uh and we've been serving North Coast Harbor uh since 2012.

Uh so we have uh we've been entrusted for a long time, and this is uh a very important part of the core services that we provide to downtown.

Uh as the director shared, uh we provide clean and safe and uh marketing and event planning services uh for the harbor.

Uh just want to share a couple of highlights with you uh from last year alone.

Uh we were able to activate North Coast Harbor with over a hundred activations.

Uh we had recreation leagues, we had Symphony at Sunset on Sunday evenings, seasonal events like Fall Fun Days and Light Up the Lake Fireworks.

Uh we conducted nearly 2,000 business contacts uh through our ambassador outreach, uh cared for the uh flowers and plantings in North Coast Harbor with over uh 3,000 gallons of water.

We refru we removed over 250 graffiti tags and importantly uh interacted with over 11,000 uh visitors providing uh hospitality assistance uh directly to people uh in need through motorist assists and uh uh helping them navigate the harbor in downtown.

So we're excited about the work that we've done, uh proud of the work we've done, excited to continue and uh Mr.

Chairman, members of the committee be happy to answer any questions you have about uh the service that we've provided to the harbor in our plans of going forward.

And uh my my one question uh the not just exceed amount uh last year was 452,000, it's now set at 470,000.

Uh does that correspond to an increase in revenues being generated at North Coast Harbor?

Um to the chair, it's just based on a CPI increase.

I'm gonna be supportive of this because you asked, but I would be remiss if I don't have reservations with downtown Cleveland Alliance because of a stance that you took a year ago against the city.

Uh and at least this council's philosophy on what we should do with one of the buildings that you're tasked with um providing this service to, which is the Browns Stadium, right?

And I don't want to dig up old wounds.

However, um when we needed downtown Cleveland Alliance, I personally felt that you flip-flopped on us, but now it's okay for you to come back and ask for a continued contract at 470,000 dollars.

I just wanted to put that out there because I I wouldn't I would be remiss in my own self if you didn't know exactly where I came from and the disappointment that we had with downtown Cleveland Alliance about a year ago, a couple of months ago, whatever it was.

Um and then here you are coming back saying, hey, you know, forget the old wounds, but you know, give us our contract for 470,000 dollars.

So I'll I'll be supportive as long as my other colleagues are there as well.

But if I didn't say that on the record, then I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

Chairman and Councilman Casey, if I may, uh, you know, first of all, uh, through the chair to the councilman, I uh I appreciate your integrity in in taking the the consistent position that you have in and speaking on the record this morning uh through the chair uh to the councilman and the other members.

I would also uh uh uh share that uh we're disappointed in the outcome.

Uh I understand that uh you uh are disappointed in uh how we handled it at the end as as an organization.

Um I would I would be remiss if uh I didn't say on the record that uh I feel like that the organization uh left it all out on the field uh battling uh battling to uh keep that team here when a lot of other folks in the community were not.

And uh I understand uh the disappointment at the at the end.

Uh and I respect that.

Uh and I again very much respect you uh articulating on the record your position.

Uh and I don't take your support uh on this issue for granted.

to provide for the labor equipment and materials necessary to maintain, repair, test, inspect, or enhance heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for the Department of Port Control.

Good morning, Mr.

Chair, members of the committee.

Uh, this item is to extend uh to exercise the first option to renew uh this contract with Air Force One.

It's a two-year agreement with two one year options to renew.

This is the first of those one year options.

Uh this work is important uh in that this company maintains the uh HVAC systems that both Burke and Hopkins uh and uh the systems at both of those facilities.

Many of uh those pieces of equipment are of an age where they require uh more maintenance uh and or replacement.

And so this contract is to provide the labor materials and such to ensure that uh both facilities remain in uh in operation and providing the service that is expected by the public that uh make use of those facilities.

Yeah, could uh uh uh could could you tell us more about the company?

I'm thinking this is the president's point.

This is a company that provides maintenance uh support, uh labor materials on uh for uh maintaining facilities.

So it's nothing to do with the the federal government per se, just uh company that happens to be called Air Force One.
