Cleveland County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting – July 6, 2026

The Cleveland County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) met in regular session on July 6, 2026, in Norman, Oklahoma. Chairman Rusty Grissom presided, with Vice Chairman Rod Cleveland and Member Jacob McHughes present. • Item 26: Bid #BE-2206, one-year lawn treatment and weed prevention maintenance contract for the Cleveland County Courthouse, North Lot, East Parking Lot, Detention Center, Sheriff's Office, South Annex, Alan J. Couch Center, and 718 N. Porter (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027) – approved.

Board Member Statements & Announcements

• Chairman Grissom thanked county crews and partnering city crews for storm cleanup, noting that District 2 used heavy equipment and chainsaws to clear downed trees and make roadways accessible to the public, and that they were praying for residents who lost power. He also congratulated the incoming Sheriff.
• A board member asked about Norman Emergency Management's damage assessment; George reported that he had spoken with them about 15 minutes earlier and they did not yet have an assessment figure, with the city still in cleanup. A question was raised about the county threshold for disaster-related property damage, and the response indicated the county likely would not meet that threshold.
• No new business was introduced.
