Planning commission this evening um Wednesday July 8th and I see that we have a quorum because we have four members.

We thought we would have five, but I believe we just need four.

All right, next we go into uh brief announcements.

Anything from staff.

I do have a few things I'd like to share with you and one item that you may all prefer that we cover during the long range calendar.

So I'll start with the first two, and you can let me know if we want to defer the other conversation to later.

Um I wanted to let you all know that this is the last evening that we will have Victor with us in support of Marisella.

And so starting next uh in two weeks on July 22nd, uhdi will be um clerking for us on her own.

Um she is launching with two meetings back to back at three o'clock is a general plan committee meeting that is convening for the first time, and then that evening we have a regular planning commission meeting.

So we're just dropping her in the deep end right off the bat with not just back to back meetings but double meetings.

So um wanted to welcome uh Mari and I also wanted to thank Victor um for the three years that I've been here.

He has been so patient, so supportive, so responsive.

Like any compliment you can think of, Victor's supported the planning commission, the planning department.

He's the best.

He's the best.

We don't want it to go to his head though.

Yeah.

Well, he'll be doing duty for city council, so he'll still be challenged, I think, with with packets and last minute details and postings and things like that.

So he's he's not off scot-free.

He just has passed the baton to Mari.

Um, I mentioned um as part of um talking about Mari and Victor that the general plan committee is being convened, it is being formed and established.

Uh it is meeting for the first time on July 22nd.

This first meeting, uh the availability of a majority of those 13 members was at three o'clock in the afternoon.

Uh but moving forward we will not typically be meeting in in the daytime, and that was based on some feedback from some of the representatives from the other commissions who either had indicated they could serve, were available, but we got feedback that the daytime time was a little challenging, and so we'll be looking at scheduling the GPC going forward for the last seven meetings at um evening times.

Um so again, first one will be on July 22nd at three o'clock.

And then um actually I have four things if if you don't mind.

Um the third thing I wanted to just make sure everyone is seeing where all of our announcements are going out, not just for the general plan update, but for things going on around town, particular of particular interest for this body is probably the projects that are coming under construction and breaking ground.

Um there is a new e-newsletter, Hello Davis, which you also received a copy of a reproduction of that e-newsletter, that digital newsletter.

Um that is a new monthly um communication piece that our communications team is putting out.

There will be regular updates on construction projects, the general plan update.

So that is something I highly recommend that you subscribe to from our e notifications page.

Um all of this information is also going out on socials.

There is a news page on the city website that isn't maybe necessarily as um visible, but a lot of the articles in the Hello Davis article um e newsletter link back to the full articles on that news page.

So I encourage you to peek at that from time to time.

And just very, very briefly, some of those updates, I won't go into all of them.

500G Street has pulled their demolition permit.

Construction is commencing in the next days, if if not maybe a week or so very quickly here.

240 G Street is also going to be demo demolishing the existing building.

Sweet Barrow Town Homes also on G Street.

Those are the so G Street is going to be impacted.

There are hall routes and street closures and information available through all of these outlets.

And I encourage folks who are in that area coming up in the next several weeks to seek out that information.

It is out there.

And then also just a final quick update.

Palomino is under can going to be under construction here very shortly, too.

Fortunately, it's not downtown, so it won't be contributing to all the hustle and bustle downtown.

And so then the fourth item, Madam Chair, is just whether you would like to discuss the time change and the other scheduling notes that we have that I want to I want to bring up and discuss with the commission if you want to do it now or with the long-range calendar.
