Delaware City Council Regular Meeting – June 8, 2026

The Delaware City Council met on June 8, 2026, at 7:00 PM in Council Chambers. Public Comments & Testimony

• Leslie Joyner (14 Noble Street) expressed disappointment about the incomplete condition of the Ross Street Water Park (community center splash pad) but acknowledged that plans show it will be nice when finished. She highlighted historical disparities in her community but noted recent progress.
• Sean Stevens (9380 Cheshire Road, Berkshire Township), candidate for Ohio's 61st House District, introduced himself and offered to assist council with state-level issues.
• Public Hearing – Resolution 26-29 (Sunbury Road development): No public comment. Applicant Mitch Gold (GT Properties) stated the project will include Chipotle, Dunkin', Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pacific Dental, and future Chick-fil-A and Take 5.

• Liquor License Transfer: Approved transfer from Vapor World LLC (Happy Daze) to Sandusky Crossroads LLC (Sandusky Carryout) at 50 S. Sandusky Street without objection after police investigation found no statutory grounds for denial.
• Resolution 26-29 (Development Plan for Chipotle & Retail on Sunbury Road): Approved with an amendment requiring the service ladder on the Chipotle building to be relocated or internally mounted. Planning Commission had recommended approval. The 1.81-acre site will include a 2,300 sq ft Chipotle with drive-thru and a 7,000 sq ft three-tenant building (retail/restaurant/office).
