Join the discussion with your elected officials starting now. All right, we're gonna get started. See the green light come on. So we're looking at the microphone. All right. Good morning, everyone. Uh welcome to Mayor Council. Thank you for joining us. Um Al Gardner, obviously, I'm not Mike Johnston, um Deputy Mayor. Uh so um thank you for joining us this morning. We'll start with introductions and I'll start with my right, uh distinguished gentleman, Paul Cashman, and I'll let him say Paul Cashman too. Paul Cashman, South Denver District 6. Just couldn't be happier to be here. Uh Kevin Flynn, Council District 2. I could be happier somewhere else, but uh Darrell Watson, fine District 9. Savannah Gonzalez Gutianez, one of your council members at large. Good morning, Amanda Sandoval, Northwest Denver District 1. She's just walking up. Hi, sorry. All right. Thank you. Uh do we have any announcements? Uh please, Councilwoman. Thank you. Um I want to share that Westwash Park RO is hosting their annual e-ways recycle event this upcoming Saturday. Drop off anything from old speakers, laptops, kitchen appliances, cell phones, and vacuums at the Royal Crest Building on South Pearl Street. This will be Saturday, April 25th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Check out Lucky District 7 social media for a full list of items. Also, Front Range Passenger Rail is hosting a community QA session at South High School. It's upcoming Wednesday from 6 to 7 30 p.m. This is an opportunity to learn more about the project, ask the team questions, and provide valuable community input. Your voice is important. The rail would run right through District 7. Um, so come out Wednesday night at South High School. Thank you. Thank you, Councilman. Councilman. Thank you. Just a quick note uh this weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, the Colorado Symphony program includes a piece that is very near and dear to the hearts of Southwest Denver, and that's Rhapsody in Blue, George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. There's a direct connection with Harvey Park. Uh because uh Paul Whiteman, the Paul Whiteman Orchestra in the 20s, graduate of North High School, uh, one of the most famous band leaders of the 20s and 30s, King of Jazz, commissioned George Gershwin to compose this concerto the same year he was buying the ranch that became Harvey Park for his parents uh as a retirement gift. Dad was a music superintendent at DPS. So the same year that he was buying that ranch, he was also uh getting Gershman to compose one of the most famous pieces in American classical music. So my wife and I are gonna go, and I'm if anybody would like to hear uh the Harvey Park themed song in Rhapsody and Blue, uh join us at the Symphony. Thank you. Wow. Thank you for that.
