2:35

Just a quick note uh this weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, the Colorado Symphony program includes a piece that is very near and dear to the hearts of Southwest Denver, and that's Rhapsody in Blue, George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue.

2:47

There's a direct connection with Harvey Park.

2:50

Uh because uh Paul Whiteman, the Paul Whiteman Orchestra in the 20s, graduate of North High School, uh, one of the most famous band leaders of the 20s and 30s, King of Jazz, commissioned George Gershwin to compose this concerto the same year he was buying the ranch that became Harvey Park for his parents uh as a retirement gift.

3:12

Dad was a music superintendent at DPS.

3:16

So the same year that he was buying that ranch, he was also uh getting Gershman to compose one of the most famous pieces in American classical music.

3:25

So my wife and I are gonna go, and I'm if anybody would like to hear uh the Harvey Park themed song in Rhapsody and Blue, uh join us at the Symphony.

3:33

Thank you.

3:34

Wow.

3:35

Thank you for that.

3:36

Please.

3:43

We need to do that for you every time you get up to speak because the more you know the better.

3:48

Right?

3:51

I love I love the knowledge, uh, Councilmember.

3:53

Uh tonight we have um our ongoing series of meetings with community.

3:58

We are having dialogue with the um regional transportation district with the Department of Transportation Infrastructure Community and the Community Advisory Group for the Walton Next Steps uh public uh study.

4:10

Uh the meeting will be a virtual meeting, 5 30 to 7 p.m.

4:14

You can reach out to my office if you have not received the invite, but we're encouraging community members to come out, share your thoughts, um, let us know what your thoughts are on really making sure that the Wild Street Corridor is a uh multi-transit uh corridor and is supported by the city and by RTD.

4:32

I also wanted to say congratulations to Prodigy.

4:35

They're hosting their 10th anniversary celebration uh this weekend as well from 4 to 6 30 p.m.

4:41

at a Prodigy Coffee House 40th in Colorado.

4:46

Come and join us in saying thank you to this amazing community partner for all the good stuff that they've done.

4:51

Can't believe it's been 10 years.

4:54

Thank you, Casman Watson.

4:56

We have someone that just joined us, so let you introduce yourself.

5:01

Diana Romero Campbell, Southeast Denver, District 4.

5:04

Thank you.

5:04

Good morning.

5:05

Good morning.

5:06

Any other announcements?

5:08

Okay, please.

5:15

But every day should be Earth Day.

5:25

We've been working with Denver Parks and Rec.

5:28

Um this Wednesday will be there.

5:31

They're starting with volunteers around 10, and then we also have volunteers that signed up, I think, at 1.

5:36

So two different shifts of volunteers that are helping to just clean up around the area.

5:42

So thank you for coming out, and we want to just keep our neighborhood and our park clean and get it ready for summer.

5:50

Thank you.

5:51

Councilwoman Gonzalez Gutierrez.

5:53

Thank you.

5:56

Right?

5:58

Uh no, I a couple of things going on tonight and then throughout the week.

6:02

Um, so first of all, thank you, Director Gardner, for um attending the Office of Independent Monitor um annual report discussion this evening.

6:12

Um that is at 5 p.m.

6:14

And we really appreciate the City Department's effortship in that.

6:17

Um secondly, tonight will be our final um feedback session with uh with regard to the registered neighborhood organization work that myself and Councilman Cashman have been working on.

6:29

And so tonight's event will be virtual at 6 p.m.

6:32

Uh and then we're gonna hopefully start talking about what the next steps will be from that.

6:37

And then the last thing is that we're we're hosting um three events over the next um over the coming week uh regarding municipal sentencing, um, the work that myself, Councilwoman Lewis, and Councilwoman Parady have been doing.

6:51

We're hosting these uh virtual events.

6:54

One will be tonight.

6:56

So tonight's a busy night.

6:57

Tonight at 4 p.m.

6:59

Uh, and then tomorrow at 6 30 p.m.

7:02

and then on Saturday the 25th at 10 a.m.

7:05

So we have these three virtual options.

7:07

We encourage people to sign up if you would like to learn more about the bill, um the proposed legislation that's coming through council.

7:15

Thank you.

7:16

Uh Councilwoman, would you like to introduce yourself for no right?

7:25

Jamie Torres, West Denver District 3.

7:27

Thank you.

7:27

Any announcements?

7:28

Uh is that it?

7:29

All right.

7:30

Thank you.

7:31

Uh thank you, everyone.

7:32

I will now entertain a motion to move us into executive session pursuant to DR Denver Revised Municipal Code 2-34A, sections three, four, six, and seven.

7:46

Motion's been moved and seconded.

7:48

All in favor?

7:50

Aye.

7:52

All right.

7:53

We'll now move into executive session once we are off the air.
