Meeting Transcript

I didn't make fun of it. I just thought a story, the back story behind it. All right. Good morning, everybody. Thank you so much for being here. Welcome to Mayor Council. We have a short general session, a couple of executive session items, but delighted to have you all here. And so I think we will start with introductions. The most distinguished gentleman to my right would like to kick us off, please. Yes, uh surprise and uh to be feeling this awake. Paul Cash from the South Denver just is happy to be here. So you're district five. Sarah Hardy at large. Good morning, Diana Romero Campbell, Southeast Denver, district four. Good morning, Amanda Sandoval, North West Denver District, right. Councilman Watson. Uh good morning, Darrell Watson, fine district nine. Welcome, welcome. Um, thank you all so much for being here. We do have some time for uh announcements. If any council members have uh announcements they'd like to share, either with fellow members or the folks listening at home. Love to jump into that now, and then we have executive session after that. Any announcements. You can probably still watch reruns on channel eight if you miss this. Thank you. Um, I just want to say thank you to the mayor's bicycle advocacy committee. We had a great district seven bike ride this weekend. And I'm remembering Memorial Day. Also, happy birthday to my son Alejandro. I love you so much. We're so proud of you. He's gonna be eleven this week, and we won't have council on the glad I got the opportunity to wish him a happy birthday. Happy birthday. Another announcement, yes, madam for Temple. Um, thank you. Uh we have a celebration happening for the Welshire um golf course, it's turning a hundred years old. This is pretty exciting. It started out as a private course and became um the only public course designed by this designer Donald Ross, West of the Mississippi. Great deal. I don't play golf, I'm learning that this is a very big thing. Um, and uh, I had some trivia last night. I don't have a new trivia question, but I'll ask it again so you can't answer. Um, but for the audience, or actually for you, what is the iconic Denver landmark that can be seen from the eighth green at the Welshire? It's on the spot. Red Rocks. Anyway, we are doing a big community celebration on the gone. We are going to do a big celebration on Friday, June 5th. There's a golf tournament in the morning. Thank you to those council members that are able to join us. And we are going to do a community celebration in the evening from 5 to 8 p.m.
