The federal government feels it's cheaper to keep someone in their home than to have them in a nursing home.

I am in the program.

It has been a great help.

To me, it's a blessing.

I know I asked him and he didn't answer with the yes or no.

It just came on with this blah blah blah talking points, but that's what he's paid to do.

Well, you could have used 75 million dollars to make them whole, but instead we we use our surplus money for you know extending sidewalks and uh now today uh uh plugging the holes for corporate America and and we had a we had uh we had a uh a hearing today on a building downtown that is 95% field, and it's a no-brainer no, but I'm pretty sure that this council will vote yes on it.

Um the mo you, I'm so disappointed in uh you council woman waters, codifying the illegal activity of the uh land bank and the nuisance uh abatement program.

They are not supposed to be, according to state law, involved in anything other than unoccupied vacant properties.

Um they have enough uh uh properties in the city that they need to be abating uh uh as opposed to all right, thank you, ma'am.

The reason why we had the Rosa Parks bus terminal, the reason why we had transportation funding, the reason why we just have great representation in um African American leadership in Congress on the federal level is because of her.

She is truly an icon, and you know, it's like that great quote says that the greatest thing a man can do is uh leave something behind that will outlast their lives.

Her legacy will outlast her life of discipline, of service, of honor, uh willing to give the shirt offer back for those that don't have for being a hope for the hopeless and a voice for the voiceless, and understands that power is only important as an instrument to serve the powerless with.

She was a dear friend of mine of my father, the honorable Coleman A.

Young senior, and of my mother, she will truly be missed.

In addition, I'd like to thank uh Bishop Van for hosting the community there.

We have about 30 community members who attended who expressed their concerns and or support for the proposed downzoning of that area, and we've heard that many times.

And so just at this table about people's concerns around downzoning in that area, and we started this process about three years ago.

And now we're finally starting to see the studies come to fruition and the process move forward.

So we're just looking forward to continue conversations and we may have a public hearing regarding the down zoning in late November or early December of this year.

The business community attended as well as the ecumenical community.

So it's really excited to have this type of uh momentum moving forward to help protect the health of our residents right there in the third district.

And as was said in the bridge magazine article, this is one of 58 half miles around the Joe Lewis Greenway.

And we're taking it about a half mile at a time for the down zoning.

So we only have 57 more to go.

And my aunt was the first one to grab me up by that collar and tell me that your purpose is not to gloat about the position that you've been given, but to help those who can't help themselves.

And so she will truly be missed.

I believe that everything that I am are been built because of her.
