It's like uh 50 cents for the city of Detroit, who are the least sores in this relationship, but you have to have an excess of $4,000 or $4,000.

The the transaction has to be greater than 4,000.

I'm not sure how that's working, but 50 cents to the people who are in the precincts that you the who I'm I'm assuming Detroit still owns the precincts.

Never can't tell though.

But um how is that even profitable for us to to enter into this?

Uh 7.4 is um a very large contract of it appears 135 million dollars for some type of amendment.

I'm not sure what's an amending, and then it's a purchase lease agreement.

Um also on the large events um schedule.

There's a huge 12,000 dollar charge for Detroit fire department and no charge for the um police department.

I'm not sure how this events and they and it says to little location little Caesars Arena.

Uh please explain the um it appears to be discrepancies on the on the large events um expenditures or I guess what they're saying we're making.

And can you tell me where that money is going?

I think it's like uh a half a million dollars.

I like to know where it's going.

Um I missed this morning's meeting on bittersweet I was selling my Detroit property and uh I'll say good written.

Not that my home was rubbish, but good written to the city policies.

And um, and the Detroit is our grossly over over taxed.

My um uh insurance uh rates have gone down by and cut in half by me moving out of the city, and my um also my insurance rates were cut in half.

So uh it's really a good move for me, and anyone within the sound of my voice, if you want to save money, you probably just have to leave the city of Detroit like I'm doing.

So it's been a sweet.

I've been here all my life, probably 70 in this month, and I've owned my property for over 50 years.

So um good reasons to that.

Now I'll still have ties to the city, of course, because I'm a Detroit retiree, and I'm still trying to get my money back.

The city uh council did institute a fast track for the general Detroit retirees, but we don't want to fast track, we want our money back, and we will continue to want our money back.

And hopefully, when you guys get ready to retire, they don't surprise you and jump and take 20% of your pension and your annuities because you'll find that they they destined you to a life of poverty, even though I've done better for myself.

I never trusted anyone, always trusted in myself.

So I made investments that will sustain me in spite of what the city has done to me.

So I thank God that I had the wherewithal and the the smarts to know to never depend on anyone else and always depend on myself.

So once again, thank you for your um graciousness and uh uh Mr.

Young, I'm glad that you got here on time because usually you and Mr.

Uh I just want to uh speak on uh I have been told by some of the seniors or uh people that uh you know contact me in regards to uh some of the information I've been given out that it's hard for them to contact someone.

Uh for example, uh D triple A.

Uh please don't give up.

What you should do is if you call a couple of times, you get a voicemail, you leave the message.

I would document when I called the date and the time, and then uh I will call and when the operator answers, I will ask to speak to someone else in regards to there's no one responding to your call because uh I'm using DEEAA as an example, but some of the other uh numbers I have given out, people have stated the same thing.

And uh I am receiving services in most cases.

The information I'm giving out, I have been successful in receiving some type of help from the program.

And with DAA, I had to do just what I'm recommending.

And that program choice waiver is a wonderful program.

If you're not eligible for Medicaid, they have a special program where it allows you to have a higher income to be eligible for Medicaid.

That's 2900 a month.

And then if you need assistance in your home, they will uh come out and do an assessment, and they decide how many uh how much time you need someone to come out per day.

And the bottom line is they help you to be able to stay in your home and to be safe.

About one, it looks like we the city is getting short changed on that, unless more information needs to come out.

And two, why is there a need for a five-year lease?

And three, sort of related to that as it relates to the detention center.

I was wondering is the do the city provide phones that the detainees can use, and hopefully they have phones available that they could use so they can make contact with their loved ones and what have you.

You know, it could be it could be partially monitored or whatever, make sure no illegal activity is going on.

But uh, I know some places like uh it's state correction facility.

Sometimes they charge a very high rate for people to use the phone.

So I was wondering do they also have a contract and a lease where people can use the phone that's detained?

Uh and also I look forward to uh seeing you on Friday, young man.

I would also like to say that it needs to be a greater effort to help the city track retirees because we continue to suffer.

Just like the young lady, uh, not that caring.

She's a city retiree that's moving out because our bills keep going up.

I know the mayor's salary's gone up over 70,000 since the bankruptcy.

And I see the mayor, city council, and uh clerk about to get raises, especially the clerk is about to get a huge raise.

I really don't see a reason why she should make more money than any city council person, because the service is horrible because we can't have you know a whole lot of people registered to vote, and I don't believe the numbers and has such a few amount of people that's actually voting, especially since 34% of the residents are under 18.

So her numbers don't add up.

We need Donald's own against that.

But also, solar farms are taking our generational wealth as a as a 64-year resident.

And the thing I I want to mention, people have said that the clerk hasn't done a good job.

People uh from the fifth district went in to get the uh write-in list on election day to the department of election under the law.

They're supposed to give that out at the department of elections, not at the polling place.

Of the right-in candidates, which they needed that to be able to vote for their community advisory commission because there was nobody on the ballot, and that's incompetence.

That's incompetence, you know.

And they're telling me that I didn't sign some paper, and they're not even following the law, and they don't they give out different lists when we went in when they went Joanne said she had her receipt that she filed on Friday.

So then they brought out a revised list that was updated, but before that, they gave us a list that didn't have either one of our names on it.

And they still don't have my name on it.

I went down and talked to Greg Maurer.

He he claims that they don't have to put according to Jam Bender, a retired clerk and around Ypsilani, she said that they still have to record every vote in the poll book, and they should have recorded the names whether or not they were uh listed uh and whether or not the the department put the name into the poll book, and I I don't know, I haven't read that law yet.

But there's also uh you're you're supposed to count every vote, and uh this I've been campaigning, I've been telling people on public comment how to do it.

I've been campaigning.

I want you guys to help me get a meeting with the election commission and make him come and swear.

Council member Young, you are an at-large member.

That means you represent the whole city.

This is my request.

Although you need the whole body here to act, I guess, but please relay it.

That it's an essential part of due process.

You have to give people who live in the areas where they're likely to be impacted by stuff you're voting on that comes out of these planning study things, and of course, the planning department is involved in it, or you're not following the charter.

And they gotta take it seriously.

And if it takes time, hey, democracy takes time, but don't keep shorting the residence by not letting them tell their story when the developers get to go on and on and on and on.

And I've seen evidence then you that you've had one-off meetings with the developer and their person to present community engagement, but you won't meet with the people who are like would be the most impacted.

So you just gotta give people the process they're due to speak about things before you vote on, like changing where people live.

It's about their quality of life, and you're you're not to represent you gotta give us our opportunity to speak and not like do everything you can to limit our opportunity to speak.

Listen to the law department tell you don't listen to them or don't do your job.

And so that's what representing with dignity is to me.

And so please, member young at large.

And so please, member Young, at large, you're one of you are you represent me in the city.
