Good evening. I would like to call to order the Dublin Planning Commission meeting of May 26, 2026. Please stand and join me in the Pledge of Allegiance. To the Republic for the Liches and God. Can we do this all right? Okay. Moving on to agenda number three. We have presentations. Presentation for 2026 to 2076 community time capsule project by Mr. Chilko Toski. Did I do justice to your name? Perfect. Okay. From Parks and Community Service Services Manager. Got it. Good evening, Honorable Chair, Vice Chair, Planning Commissioners, Sean Shogatowski with the uh recreation manager at the Parks and Community Service Department. The item for you tonight is our 2026, 2076. Sounds weird saying that. Community time capsule project. Just uh a very brief kind of informational um item. We can just bring some awareness, um, maybe any any feedback that you might have. Um so just again, it's uh a 50-year and I underscored or under sorry underlined uh community here. Um this is really a community time capsule. Um we're doing is in in celebration of the United States 250th anniversary. Um there's the city is hosting a the red, white, and blue backyard bash on 4th of July this year. It'll take place um actually just right across the way here at the Delma Sports Grounds. This idea came to be it's like, hey, well, how are we gonna how do we commemorate the the time, the moment? Um said, hey, let's why not do a time capsule. Um so yeah, here we are again, underlined community. Instead of just you know, city staff collecting a whole bunch of random items, throwing them in a box. Um we've we've opened this up to the community. So we've gathered a lengthy list of local community groups, uh CBOs, nonprofit organizations, you know, the Dublin Little League, Silverman Soccer, Arts Collective, anything, um, you know, anything and everything that you can think of. And we've we've thrown it out there, opened up the opportunity um to these organizations to participate. Um, of course, hopefully you guys all um should have received an email from me um last week. Um if you didn't, um definitely can get a hold of me or um uh Jennifer here, Kathy, um we can help uh make sure you get that email asking if there's you know commissioners are interested in in participating. Um would love to have you know some you know something to put in there for you know future commissioners, you know, 50 years from now to look back. Um really where we're at now we're in uh we're in the promotion phase um as you see here in May. Again, it's we're it's open to the public. Um we're obviously it's you know we're here tonight, we're advertising it. We're not broadly kind of advertising, um, just because it is, you know, we we don't have space for every you know resident, every family, every community member to to contribute to this. So it's you know, even the local boy scouts, girl scratchers were asking, hey, all of the different troops that are you know come together as one um to smitten item um with the with a number of different cricket organizations in the community. We'd ask them all, hey, come together as a group um, you know, and fill what I have is is caplets. So within the larger time capsule is individual caps. So each community organization is provided a cap with they can fill it up with whatever fits as long as it's it's not food or batteries or something that's you know not gonna last 50 years. Um and we'll it's probably past my time, but in 2076, somebody will open it up. Um again, we're doing a kind of a ceremonial um sealing at the red, white and blue backyard bash on 4th of July. And if you know 50 years from now, you know, if they want to open up on the 4th of July, um they can do that. We are gonna put it the intent is to put it on display actually here in the lobby. A lot of times with time capsules, you know, it's the old you know put it underground for 50 years, dig it up. I think in kind of modern times, it'd say, well, I go through the effort, and then you open up and it's worms, earth, you know, we're gonna just it turns into so why not seal it up, put it on display, and you know, it'll it'll be here 50 years from now.
