The item before you tonight is a conditional use permit amendment for the Inlight Academy, which is a private school.

The project site is located on Amarillode Road and is surrounded primarily by a single-family residential neighborhood with MAPE Memorial Park to the east and the John Knox Presbyterian Church to the south.

Uh, the site was owned by the Dublin Unified School District and used to be the uh Neelson Elementary School.

The general plan land use designation for the project site is public semi public, and it is zoned R1 single family residential.

Private schools are classified in the zoning ordinance as community facilities, and they require approval of a conditional use permit in the R1 zoning district.

In August 2023, the Inlight Academy received planning commission approval of a conditional use permit or CUP to establish a private school on the Nielsen elementary school site with up to 20 students in grades kindergarten through five.

In addition, uh the following day, uh Light Academy received uh ministerial approval of a zoning clearance to operate a daycare center also on the Nielsen Elementary School site with up to 15 children ages three to six.
