So welcome everyone to the uh Edmund City Council study session here on uh February 11th, uh calling it to order at uh 3 p.m.

At the moment we have council members Payne Chen, Eck and Olson with us uh and myself, uh Councilmember Dutch, Council President Dutch.

And um are there any objections to approving the agenda as presented?

No objection.

Are we taking actions at this no?

I somebody asked if the I mean I don't need to, but somebody had asked if the agenda could be changed, so I was just kind of put that out there.

But if there's no objections, then we'll just adopt the agenda as we have it.

Um we're gonna have staff joining us.

Uh yes, there are supposed to be let's see who's all with us here.

Yeah, we have um we have Todd Tatum here.

Okay, so I thought thank you.

Great.

So we will start with our first item of business here, and that is the response to email sent to council office.

And that came up um with uh discussing with the executive uh assistant about acknowledging when we receive uh emails from uh people that just to the council at um oftentimes um people can't respond right away, and uh it'd just be nice just to acknowledge that we received it, not saying that anybody read it, but just to say that um yes, it is received and and and that um they are sent to the council.

And there was a recommended um uh text or uh email text for that that was in your packet.

So I'll open it up to anybody that wants to comment on that.

This one uh acknowledge that councilman Renan is with us and council member Barnett as well at 302.

And we are at the first uh topic of our agenda.

And so I just presented it and just asking for um feedback and uh uh from our council members here and we'll chat.

Yeah, so uh I think it's a good idea to uh have that acknowledgement go out.

My question is is this going to be able to uh respond to individual email to each individual council member or just uh the group member email?

So if uh if um uh citizen or resident or anybody um send something to the council at, then that would be a reply back to that person, not uh if you want everybody to if you want it to be CC'd to all the council, I think that'd be a lot of emails, but it just would be reply uh back to the group.

Yeah.

And that actually that's uh easy one.

Just said uh auto reply, and you'll automatically just acknowledge Lucy.

So we don't have we don't need to spend any extra people.

No, there wouldn't be on that.

Yeah.

Okay.

I like that idea.

Um yeah, I agree.

Having an auto reply makes so much sense.

I like the idea of letting people know that their email was received.

Um it doesn't cause extra work for uh Teresa except for setting up the auto reply.

So I don't have any concerns.

I think if we find something out along the way that comes up and is an issue, we can deal with that at the time, but I can't imagine there will be anything negative coming from it.

You know, I had seen this um role modeled in Bellevue, and I thought it was a really good idea.

Um so I'm glad to um have us move forward on that.

Um on the exact wording, I just wanted to um see if the body would prefer um just saying sincerely instead of warmest regards.

Um I just felt like that was a little bit more business professional um and more more what I think should be aligned with this kind of communication from council.

Sure, I'm I'm fine with that.

Anybody opposed to that change?

I I always say sincerely warmest regards can be updated to sincerely.
