Now we have a request for approval and execute amendment for concessions agreement for Health Rick golf course.

President and board members, um, so this amendment is um tied back to having the liquor license be under the uh responsibility of the concessionaire.

In the past, this had been under the city of Evansville and the Board of Park Commissioners, and we did not feel that that was appropriate, and so this amendment is adjusting that so that it will be under uh Wilson of Evansville from um the previous agreement, which stated that the Board of Park Commissioners was responsible.

So that is the amendment to this agreement.

It's also adding Wilson of Evansville as the concessionaire, in addition to Britt Wilson.

We're keeping him personally liable as well.

But that was a request from Scott Bedwell, who's our consultant for the ATC.

Okay, and this is needed in order for the lick consideration for the liquor license to be transferred to be approved to Wilson of Evansville.

So I will provide you with some information for this change order.

Um, so this change order, and this is all Greek to me, but um basically we need to do this um during the excavation.

It was found there were some vaults underneath that property, and so we need to make sure that the park foundation is stable.

And so the change order is for a cost changes involved in changing from topsoil to mirrorify woven geosynthetic.

Basically, if I'm uh explaining this right, uh, more stone and a mesh layer that will create a more secure general question.

So we we've done this a couple we've done this now, so we're gonna what's the technicalities between approve versus approve and execute?

I'll I'll explain this.

Okay, uh, so you want to approve the execution.

That's the motion.

So while they were in there doing work for the restroom, they went ahead, they planned to take care of the drainage issues in the playground as well.

So I had a little speech written out here, and I'm decided I'm just gonna wing it.

Basically, I would love to introduce the board to our new program director, Katherine Van Hook.

Catherine, if you can stand and wave for us.

She is filling a much needed role in our department.

She officially began in the office on Monday.

She's going to be taking care of our social media, our programs, our community connections, and so much more.

She comes to us with a wealth of information in programming and specifically our aging population.

So we're really excited about adding more senior programs into our mix as well.

And she has dove right in, no pun intended, picking up where I left off with pool hiring and making sure that our pools, our staff and our programming are ready here to open on the 30th of May.

So we are super excited she's here and just want to welcome her.

Welcome aboard.

And then secondly, I just want to go ahead and mention movie nights in the park.

I'm not gonna steal her thunder, but uh those are quickly approaching as well.

So I just want to make sure you get those dates on your calendar.

May the 29th is our first one at Van Park.

We'll be showing a Minecraft movie, and we will email the board all of these dates as well.

Uh the next one will be June the 12th at 11th Avenue Park, and we'll be showing the parent trap.

July the 17th at Stevenson Park, we're going to show Space Jam, and then August the 7th at Howell Park will be showing Zootopia 2.

And I have a feeling that one will draw the largest crowd.

But we're excited to continue this program in conjunction.

These movies will be sponsored by City Council, and uh we'll be working together with the Evansville Police Department and Evansville Fire Department as part of a larger summer initiative.

So excited about that.
