3:47

3:48

Again, we're uh asking to approve quotes for it's for the entry building and Amazonia buildings that we're going to um repair the ethos coding on the building that is uh delaminated itself from the building and get it repaired.

4:05

All right, questions?

4:06

4:22

Danielle.

4:25

Mr.

4:25

President, members of the board.

4:27

I feel like we've talked about this and talked about this and talked about this, and we're finally here.

4:31

So hopefully, we're gonna be able to see dirt being moved soon.

4:34

Um, we're asking your permission to ward this agreement to art construction.

4:38

They were the low bidder um on those bids that we received at the last meeting.

4:44

And I know you've told us Danielle.

4:45

When is uh what's the completion date on that?

4:48

So the anticipated requested completion date per those documents was September the second, so Labor Day weekend.

4:56

Okay.

4:56

Um there are penalties if it is not open to the public by that time.

5:01

Perfect.

5:03

Good questions.

5:04

Any other questions?

5:06

I'll entertain a motion.

5:08

So moved second.

5:10

Well, motion and a second.

5:11

All in favor say aye.

5:13

Aye.

5:14

Post motion carries.

5:16

Next request, approve and execute amendment to concessions agreement at Helfrick golf course.

5:23

H.

5:23

Oh, I checked off too.

5:25

Agreement with Midwest contracting for global renovations.

5:31

Mr.

5:31

President and board members, you'll see this one is a little bit different than the previous item item G.

5:37

This request is just to award the agreement and not award and execute.

5:43

There are a few language changes that need to be made in the specifics of the agreement before we execute that, but we are going to go ahead and ask your permission to award that agreement to Midwest contracting.

5:55

Again, they were the low bidder in those bids received at the last meeting.

6:00

Okay.

6:01

Any questions?

6:03

I'll entertain a motion.

6:05

So moved.

6:06

Second.

6:07

Well, motion and a second.

6:08

All in favor say aye.

6:09

Aye.

6:10

Opposed.

6:10

Motion carries.

6:15

Now we have a request for approval and execute amendment for concessions agreement for Health Rick golf course.

6:21

Danielle.

6:24

Mr.

6:24

President and board members, um, so this amendment is um tied back to having the liquor license be under the uh responsibility of the concessionaire.

6:36

In the past, this had been under the city of Evansville and the Board of Park Commissioners, and we did not feel that that was appropriate, and so this amendment is adjusting that so that it will be under uh Wilson of Evansville from um the previous agreement, which stated that the Board of Park Commissioners was responsible.

6:55

So that is the amendment to this agreement.

6:57

It's also adding Wilson of Evansville as the concessionaire, in addition to Britt Wilson.

7:03

We're keeping him personally liable as well.

7:07

But that was a request from Scott Bedwell, who's our consultant for the ATC.

7:12

Okay, and this is needed in order for the lick consideration for the liquor license to be transferred to be approved to Wilson of Evansville.

7:22

Okay.

7:24

Any other questions?

7:26

I'll entertain a motion.

7:28

So moved, second.

7:31

We have a motion and a second.

7:32

All in favor say aye.

7:33

Aye.

7:34

Opposed, motion carries.

7:37

Um Dirk, we had skipped items A, B, and C.

7:42

Did you approve the change?

7:45

Okay, all right.

7:46

So we're going to go back on the agenda under items A, B, and C.

7:50

We are going to approve them and not execute them.

7:54

So, um the first request is approve the change order number two with Midwest contracting for fourth and main park project in the amount of 37,150.

8:08

Danielle.

8:10

So I will provide you with some information for this change order.

8:14

Um, so this change order, and this is all Greek to me, but um basically we need to do this um during the excavation.

8:26

It was found there were some vaults underneath that property, and so we need to make sure that the park foundation is stable.

8:34

And so the change order is for a cost changes involved in changing from topsoil to mirrorify woven geosynthetic.

8:44

Basically, if I'm uh explaining this right, uh, more stone and a mesh layer that will create a more secure general question.

8:56

So we we've done this a couple we've done this now, so we're gonna what's the technicalities between approve versus approve and execute?

9:04

I'll I'll explain this.

9:05

Okay, uh, so you want to approve the execution.

9:13

That's the motion.

9:14

Okay, but it's not gonna be executed this minute because I have to double check and make sure that it's got the right language.

9:24

I assume that it is because these came from the architect.

9:27

Did they not?

9:29

Right.

9:29

These are just typical.

9:31

AIA change orders.

9:35

Okay.

9:36

And it's the only thing is basically you're approving execution based on your understanding of the amount and the reason.

9:44

And then Wayne will execute them when we send them to him or when he comes by.

9:49

Copy that.

9:50

All right.

9:51

If that makes sense.

9:51

And then we have to do a contract approval for administrative stuff.

9:55

All right.

9:57

So we have heard change order one to Midwest contracting for $37,150 and three cents.

10:04

Do I have a motion for approval?

10:05

I think that's change order number two.

10:08

Oh, change order number two.

10:09

I'm sorry.

10:10

Okay.

10:12

Okay.

10:12

Second.

10:14

Any other discussion?

10:16

Clarification.

10:17

All in favor, say aye.

10:19

Oh, I'm sorry.

10:20

We have a motion of second.

10:21

All in favor say aye.

10:22

Aye.

10:23

Opposed?

10:23

Motion carries.

10:25

The second request is approve change order number three with River Town construction for next level trail in the amount of five thousand eight hundred and twenty-five dollars and forty-one cents.

10:37

And yeah.

10:44

We have been asked to go to C and come back to B.

10:47

Table that we we're just gonna keep going.

10:50

The next request is approve and change order number four with Midwest contracting for Westman Playground Restroom Project in the amount of $13,900.

11:02

Board members, uh, this change order request is due to some drainage issues.

11:08

The playground is directly connected to the restroom, and there were some drainage issues that were discovered in the playground adjoining the restroom that would have created larger issues for that restroom.

11:20

So while they were in there doing work for the restroom, they went ahead, they planned to take care of the drainage issues in the playground as well.

11:30

Other questions?

11:32

I'll entertain a motion.

11:34

So moved.

11:35

Second.

11:36

We have a motion and a second.

11:38

All in favor, say aye.

11:40

Aye.

11:40

Opposed?

11:41

Motion carries.

11:42

We're going to go back to B.

11:44

The request is to approve change order number three with River Town Construction for next level trail in the amount of five thousand eight hundred and twenty-five dollars and forty-one cents.

12:02

I'm looking for it.

12:08

Hang tight for one second here.

12:23

So, well, I understand.

13:20

Mr.

13:20

President, board members, I'm gonna make a recommendation that we hold on new business item B until the next meeting to allow us time to provide you detailed information regarding that change order.

13:33

Okay.

13:38

All right, uh continuing down the agenda a report from Danielle.

13:46

So I had a little speech written out here, and I'm decided I'm just gonna wing it.

13:52

Basically, I would love to introduce the board to our new program director, Katherine Van Hook.

13:58

Catherine, if you can stand and wave for us.

14:01

She is filling a much needed role in our department.

14:04

She officially began in the office on Monday.

14:07

She's going to be taking care of our social media, our programs, our community connections, and so much more.

14:13

She comes to us with a wealth of information in programming and specifically our aging population.

14:20

So we're really excited about adding more senior programs into our mix as well.

14:25

And she has dove right in, no pun intended, picking up where I left off with pool hiring and making sure that our pools, our staff and our programming are ready here to open on the 30th of May.

14:38

So we are super excited she's here and just want to welcome her.

14:50

Welcome aboard.

14:52

And then secondly, I just want to go ahead and mention movie nights in the park.

14:56

I'm not gonna steal her thunder, but uh those are quickly approaching as well.

15:00

So I just want to make sure you get those dates on your calendar.

15:03

May the 29th is our first one at Van Park.

15:06

We'll be showing a Minecraft movie, and we will email the board all of these dates as well.

15:12

Uh the next one will be June the 12th at 11th Avenue Park, and we'll be showing the parent trap.

15:20

July the 17th at Stevenson Park, we're going to show Space Jam, and then August the 7th at Howell Park will be showing Zootopia 2.

15:30

And I have a feeling that one will draw the largest crowd.

15:34

But we're excited to continue this program in conjunction.

15:38

These movies will be sponsored by City Council, and uh we'll be working together with the Evansville Police Department and Evansville Fire Department as part of a larger summer initiative.

15:49

So excited about that.

15:51

That is all I have for today.

15:54

Perfect.

15:54

Thank you.

15:56

Um acceptance of payroll and vendor claims.

15:59

I'll entertain a motion.

16:00

So moved.

16:02

Second.

16:03

We have a motion and second.

16:04

All in favor say aye.

16:05

Aye.

16:06

Opposed.

16:08

Is there any other business that the board wishes to consider or any public comment today?

16:16

Hearing or seeing none, we are adjourned.

16:20

Thank you.
