We opened sealed quotes on May 20th at this meeting, and uh Dyke Brothers was the low uh qualified quote to do several uh paving projects.

1:51

Their total amount was 99,050 dollars.

1:54

And today we have a contract in front of you to execute so we can start with that work.

2:28

Um and follow purchasing's recommendation to award to Garmong Construction, they were the low bidder for this project.

2:37

All right, uh do we have a motion to award seeker news and center renovation project of Garmount construction services?

2:46

So moved.

Second all in favor, aye, all against motion carries.

2:52

All right, item C approve and execute change order number three with uh midwest contracting to extend the substantial completion date for fourth and main park on November 25th, 2026.

3:07

Good afternoon, board members.

3:09

This is a zero dollar change order.

3:11

Again, this is just to extend the completion date.

3:14

If you have driven down Main Street, you've seen um it's been kind of just a big hole for a minute.

3:20

Um lots of delays there, including some vaults that they found during excavation, some basements and things that we weren't aware were there, so we had to take care of that and materials delay on that end, and then some work with center point as well, just getting that timing figured out, and then some delays from the residential contractor all piled on.

3:41

Um do want to make you aware this uh is not going to impact the ready funds.

3:46

Um, we still uh feel that we can have the ready fund allocation spent um by the date that is needed, which is in September.

3:55

So the final project extended again your permission to extend that and accept this change order to November the 25th, 2026, and we do not feel that that will impact uh receipt of ready funds.

4:07

Okay, all right, make a motion to approve.

4:10

I'll second all in favor, aye against motion carries.

4:15

Um item D.

4:17

Any other business the board wishes to consider and are there any public comments?

4:27

All right, hearing D.

4:30

Yeah, come on out.

4:38

Please state your name and address for the record.

4:42

Marcus Horton, uh my address is 2120 West Illinois Street.

4:48

Um, I was having a problem with I have a claim and they merged it with your guys' government, and I've been trying to come forward and claim it to multiple different departments.

4:59

I don't know if you guys reallocated the funds or how to handle it because nobody in the city's been working with me to resolve these issues.

5:09

I came to you guys because it kind of went through your department through the I guess your director in the forum of the department back here in 2020.

5:24

What does the claim pertain to?

5:29

It was supposed to be an NDL case that was between the federal building.

5:34

The best I can understand it, it was settled out of court, and then the city reallocated and did some other things with it.

5:40

And I and I every time I come forward to claim it did you have a problem with the judges or the case or a little bit of everything at this point.

5:48

And I've got all the paperwork from the government from different departments, but I don't have anybody work with the I guess finishes and get it all nice and out of the way.

6:03

So discuss this case.

6:21

Okay.

6:21

Um I was the victim in Indiana that used as an alias for me uh for confidentiality reasons.

6:29

Uh and then after that, I I family was working with the city, and they won't I wasn't involved in it.

6:37

Um I've got an ongoing health problem that I'm trying to get resolved, and family and social services isn't really cooperating, and neither are they were supposed to do some other things.

6:47

Um I don't know what else to do because I didn't.

6:50

I guess this was kind of like the last niche thing is come forward and talk to you guys here on.

6:54

And I'll just say hopefully one of the departments will work with me.

7:05

Bear with me.

7:06

Yep.

7:08

Marcus, yeah, you talking to my microphone a little bit.

7:12

Yeah, thank you.

7:13

Sorry.

7:23

This has my email on it.

7:25

Okay.

7:35

Thank you for your time.

7:37

Thank you.

7:39

Are they any others?

7:42

Hearing and seeing none.

7:44

I will go to Miss Crook for reports.

7:47

Good afternoon, everybody.

7:50

Try that again.

7:51

Good afternoon, everybody.

7:52

Good afternoon.

7:53

Uh, just a couple fun updates, as always.

7:56

Um, our first movie in the park was Friday at Van Park.

7:59

We showed Minecraft.

8:00

We had a great turnout, Kona Ice was there.

8:03

Um, lots of families and kiddos taking advantage of that.

8:06

So I think it was just as good, if not better, than our first movie turnout last year.

8:10

So really pleased on that.

8:12

The next one is gonna be June 11th at 11th Avenue, and that is uh the parent trap is what that one is gonna be.

8:20

Um two of our pools open, Howell Mosby Pool opened on Saturday, as did Rochelle Pool, also opened on Saturday.

8:28

Lorraine Pool is still delayed with the pool liner, and we're still anticipating a June 19th opening for that.

8:34

Um golf course revenue, just a little bit of news there.

8:38

Uh Mike Wasmer, our golf pro for Fendrick and McDonald's golf courses, sent me some data for um, and I'll be emailing that to all of you, but just in regards to revenue, and the gist of it is that Fendrick revenue is up 35.9% from last year through May, and McDonald's revenue is up 30.47% through May.

8:59

And a lot of this can be attributed to weather.

9:02

There was a lot of flooding last year, early January.

9:05

We still had ice.

9:06

So I do think that's the majority of that, but we have received a lot of positive feedback despite the courses being under construction for irrigation.

9:14

I do think that the community is grateful that we are making this investment and they can see the investment in the course and um our interest in continuing to support the city courses.

9:24

So just some good news there.

9:26

And then last but not least, my notes here just says Paul Paul Paul.

9:32

But that is my note.

9:34

I wanted to formally put on the record here.

9:40

Is retiring from the city of Evansville after over, over keyword, 30 years, so I think close to 32, if I'm not mistaken.

9:50

I believe he started with the city in 1994.

9:53

Is that right, Paul?

9:54

1994.

9:56

So he even has me beat there.

9:57

I think that's admirable, and he has contributed in multiple capacities over these years.

10:02

We are going to be celebrating Paul with a retirement cookout on Friday at Wesselman Park Shelter 1.

10:09

You all are invited from 11 to 12 30 just to send him off and wish him well on his next endeavor.

10:16

So thank you, Paul, for your service and commitment to our department and to the zoo for all these years.

10:22

Your work has not gone unnoticed.

10:24

So thank you.

10:26

Thank you, Paul.

10:27

Congratulations.

10:28

Yeah.

10:29

And that is all I have.

10:30

Awesome.

10:31

Thank you.

10:32

Um, entertain a motion for acceptance of payroll and then to clean.

10:37

So move second.

10:38

All in favor, aye.

10:40

Against motion carries.

10:42

We're joined.

10:43

All right.
