We have a Juneteenth update by Lauren Hall and Ms. Ashante Bennett with the Cool Springs Downtown District. Good evening. Hello, everybody. Hello. So I want to thank the City Council for the opportunity to share exciting updates regarding the Juneteenth Jubilee coming up. The Juneteenth Jubilee returns for its third year on Saturday, June 15th from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Festival Park in downtown Fayetteville, located at 335 Ray Avenue. The Juneteenth Jubilee honors the longest running Black American holiday, a celebration of the end of slavery in the United States. The Juneteenth Jubilee Festival is designed to provide a welcoming, educating, fun, and celebratory event for our community and visitors alike, focused on the history of Juneteenth, as well as promoting a spirit of unity and progress. So I'm really excited to talk about our national touring acts, Pierce Freelon and Skip Marley. Here's a little bit of information about our headliners. Pierce Freelan is a two-time Grammy nominated artist. He's from Durham, North Carolina.
