The Fayetteville City Council met in a work session on August 4, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM. The agenda covered emergency management, flood mitigation engineering, a proposed loitering ordinance, parks and recreation master plan updates, and two speed limit reduction requests. And let's ask Brother Davis. I haven't heard him in a while speak to the Lord. Could you do the invocation for us, please? I speak to the Lord every day, but I'll let you hear it. So uh Lord, we thank you for this. We thank you for this time. We thank you. Um I was making it here safely. Uh the pledge of legions, please. Um radio and sound. Okay. All right, as we get ready to move forward. Um could I have a motion to approve the agenda, please? And then I'll uh Dr. Hare, I'll move that we uh uh top the agenda. Okay, is there a second row floor? Okay, uh council member uh benevented did the uh motion and it was second by councilwoman. Thanks, MacLaugh and all in favor. Did you want to ask the attorney about six point oh five and six point oh six what we were talking about before the work session started about making that action tonight instead of I'll wait till I get to it. Okay. Yeah, yeah, I'll wait till I get to it. Uh could I get a uh uh machines up to vote, please. Okay. That is six to zero. All right, our first item. I'll be calling on the city manager that will start the introductions for us for today's meeting. Mr. City Manager. Thank you, Dr. Heron. Welcome back, Council. Um it seems like July has escaped us, and we're here in August. Was it quick or what? It was quick. Yes, sir, yes, sir. Um happy to be joined today um by Laura Smith, our emergency management um manager and coordinator, as well as she's brought some friends from the county, Mr. Crumpler and Ms. Sheck. I'm an Alaska Laura to come forward and tell us what we're gonna be doing today as well as provide further introductions. Thank you. Um that think of me other than just a weather event. And my co-presenter today is gonna be Gary Crumpler.
