I wanted to come tonight to thank the city for uh its prompt response uh to my outreach when I reached out regarding several dead trees uh that were in the city right away near Caitlin Park.

In less than 24 hours, a city crew was there taking down the trees.

Uh when Folsom is called distinctive by nature, I think that applies to the city staff as well.

Um I'm here to represent today as uh the president of the Homeowner Association for Tunstone community.

We would like to bring your attention to uh intersection of Iron Point, Eastbound, and Willow Bridge Drive.

Over the past almost uh two years, we have seen number of accidents in that area.

Some of them were really major accidents.

And uh there are multiple reasons for that.

Over speeding, people not obeying the law, running the red light as well.

But there is one technical issue that we have over there.

Uh that intersection is right next to the Folsom High School, and a lot of kids from Folsom High School as well, they come to that intersection and cross the road.

And uh there is a curve between Folsom High School and this intersection.

And there are some trees and some plantation on the side of the road off of Iron Point Road.

That creates a blind spot, and that blind spot is causing a lot of uh accidents and incidents over there because people are not able to actually uh see what's go uh coming on on the main uh coming out of uh Iron Point uh out of uh Turnstone community, they're coming out and taking a right on Iron Point without looking that there are there's a traffic coming on uh on the Iron Point Road as well.

So we have few solutions as well as a community.

We have uh worked together and we have found few solutions as well, but uh three minutes are not enough to discuss all those solutions.

So I would like to have a meeting with someone uh with my community uh our community and myself so that we can talk about those some some of the potential solutions and avoid any future incidents.

Folsom City Council Regular Meeting - August 27, 2024

The Folsom City Council met on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chambers.
