All right, the time being six o'clock. It is January 12th, 2026. I will call this meeting of the City Council temporary rules committee to order. My name is Michael Cannon. I'm joined by Counselors Tracy Bryant, John Stefanini, Christine Long, and Janet Liam Bruno. The agenda this evening is we will organize and elect a chair. We will discuss the uh official rules of the council. There's some background material added available on the city website. We'll talk about next steps and upcoming meetings, and we will adjourn in uh in a very prompt fashion. Uh so uh organization, uh, we will elect a chair if there are nominations. Uh Liam. Oh, sorry. I just want to uh do you have any interest in serving? No, no, no. Thank you. I asked it, never asked a question you don't know the answer to. Well, I figured, but I just want to give you the respect to that. So I would nominate John Stefanini to serve there is a nomination and a second for Counselor Stefanini. Any other motions? Well, I just want to say on that motion, well, while I think he's well qualified, um, he has um a document that we're gonna be discussing. So um I find it, but the he if he chairs it, it's a little bit of a conflict, but I mean, it's not a big conflict, so he can do it. Um, but I'm just saying that you know the major document for changes is his. But I guess he can handle both. Is there a motion? Okay. I think just ours. Just I think just I don't have any motion. I was commenting on it. You know how we get to speak on the motion after the motion is made. Okay. Are there if there are no other motions? I'll take a vote. Okay. Um I think we can get through this in one meeting unless there's things that we disagree on, but all of us have discussed these rules for multiple years.
