Special Recognition – Police Department Lifesaving Awards
- Dispatch Lieutenant Amy Nebling received the Dispatch Lifesaving Award for her handling of a 911 call on July 6, 2024, on Park Creek Drive. She calmly provided CPR instructions to the caller until emergency services arrived.
- Senior Patrol Officer Jenny Deal received the Lifesaving Award for arriving on scene within three minutes of the call and performing chest compressions until Germantown Fire arrived. The patient was transported and made a full recovery. Medical staff confirmed that the immediate aid rendered saved the patient's life.
- Chief Fisher and Captain Ben Sharp presented the details. The board expressed gratitude for the teamwork between dispatch and police, and congratulated the awardees.

Good evening, folks. Welcome to the Board of Mayor and Alderan meeting for Monday, November 11th. We wish to celebrate Veterans Day. If there are any veterans that are with us this evening, thank you for your service. Veterans Day is often more of a celebration. Memorial Day is a day of mourning and reflection. And so all veterans that are either in attendance or those that are viewing this evening via the net. We say thank you for your service. A couple highlights about our meeting this evening. It's somewhat short by standards. We do not have a regular portion of our agenda this evening. We only have a consent agenda. And we have the honor this evening to have special recognition by the police department for the nomination of life saving medals. And so we look forward to that presentation this evening. This evening, our invocation will be led by assistant city administrative Andy Sanders, and our Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Vice Mayor Mary Ann Gibson. Please rise. Heavenly Father God, our hearts are full today. As around this great country, we remember, honor, and celebrate those that have served and are currently serving in our country's armed forces. God, we're so thankful for our veterans, especially on this day. As we are ever mindful of the cost paid for the liberty we possess, we ask you to bless all the members of our armed forces and the service they provide to our great country. Lord, we ask that you would also be with our discussions this evening to guide our decisions so we always do what is right and just and serve worthily those who rely on us in this community. You are loving God and sacrificial Lord, both now and forevermore. Amen. Please be seated. Assistant City Administrator Sanders, we appreciate both of you. This evening, as I mentioned, uh we do have to set the agenda before we get started. The agenda is presented to the community generally on Wednesday prior to the board meeting.
