On November 11, 2024, at 6:00 PM, the Germantown Board of Mayor and Aldermen held a brief meeting, beginning with a Veterans Day recognition, an invocation led by Assistant City Administrator Andy Sanders, and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Vice Mayor Mary Ann Gibson. The agenda was set unanimously, and the minutes from the October 28, 2024 regular meeting were approved by a 4-0 vote. No citizens spoke during the Citizens to be Heard portion. The meeting featured a special recognition of police and dispatch personnel for lifesaving actions, followed by approval of the consent agenda with no discussion.
All consent items were approved unanimously by a roll call vote of 4-0.
Good evening, folks. Welcome to the Board of Mayor and Alderan meeting for Monday, November 11th. We wish to celebrate Veterans Day. If there are any veterans that are with us this evening, thank you for your service. Veterans Day is often more of a celebration. Memorial Day is a day of mourning and reflection. And so all veterans that are either in attendance or those that are viewing this evening via the net. We say thank you for your service. A couple highlights about our meeting this evening. It's somewhat short by standards. We do not have a regular portion of our agenda this evening. We only have a consent agenda. And we have the honor this evening to have special recognition by the police department for the nomination of life saving medals. And so we look forward to that presentation this evening. This evening, our invocation will be led by assistant city administrative Andy Sanders, and our Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Vice Mayor Mary Ann Gibson. Please rise. Heavenly Father God, our hearts are full today. As around this great country, we remember, honor, and celebrate those that have served and are currently serving in our country's armed forces. God, we're so thankful for our veterans, especially on this day. As we are ever mindful of the cost paid for the liberty we possess, we ask you to bless all the members of our armed forces and the service they provide to our great country. Lord, we ask that you would also be with our discussions this evening to guide our decisions so we always do what is right and just and serve worthily those who rely on us in this community.
