The Board of Mayor and Aldermen of Germantown, Tennessee, held a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers. - Donations – Neighborhood Preservation Commission: The board accepted donations from Robins Construction, Reed Realtors, Heritage Builders, Picker Pickle Iron Incorporated, Gurley Azalea Garden, Marissa Rogers, and Shirley Rogers.
- PSA – On-Call Traffic Engineering Services: Approved a professional services agreement for on-call traffic engineering services at an estimated cost of $75,000.
- Purchase – Vehicle and Equipment: Approved the purchase of vehicles and equipment for $531,000, allocated to Public Works and Parks and Recreation.
- Development Contract No. 1261 – 9224 Poplar Pike: Approved the development contract for the property at 9224 Poplar Pike.

- Park and Recreation Month Proclamation: Vice Mayor Mary Ann Gibson read a proclamation recognizing July as Park and Recreation Month. The proclamation emphasized that parks promote health, wellness, time in nature, and physical activity, and highlighted the positive impact on mental health. Vice Mayor Gibson thanked the Parks and Recreation department for maintaining Germantown's 29 parks and greenway.
- Mayor's Remarks: The Mayor thanked various departments for the successful July 4th fireworks celebration. He reported that the Germantown Police Department recorded zero crimes on July 4th and July 6th, and only one reported incident on July 5th, in a city of 41,333 residents.

Good evening. Welcome to the regularly scheduled board meeting for Monday, July 14th. We welcome all those that are joining us this evening in attendance. That would be John Johnson. Thank you for being here. John, we welcome all those that are at home watching via stream and other methods as well. A few highlights about our meeting. We always have citizens to be heard. If uh John, if you want to pick one up, you can. And that'll be item number six on the agenda this evening. We have no items on the regular agenda, only a consent agenda item this evening. We do have a proclamation to recognize Parks and Recreation Month. I'd like to make a couple of quick announcements before we get into the body of the meeting this evening. I would like to give special thanks and appreciation to all the different departments. Mr. Heisman that put on one of the most fabulous 4th of July fireworks in many years. A very captivating uh video by our video videographer. Brad did a great job on capturing the behind the scenes of the fireworks and all the preparation that goes into it. Want to thank Parks and Rec, General Services, Public Works, Fire, Police, EMS services, everyone associated board mayor and alderman as well that were able to be in attendance and the thousands and thousands of residents and visitors as well. I'd also like to give real quick special attention to our police department, specifically the uh police report for July 4th through the 10th. Chief Fisher, July 4th, no crimes reported in the city of 41,333. Saturday the fifth, only one um item that was uh reported and no crime reported on July the 6th. So that's a good week in policing. So thank you. And I have something. I think our first responders and our public safety uh professionals from police and fire, they have something they had something to do with all that. Y'all you run a good city is and keep us safe. So thank you. This evening, our invocation will be led by assistant city administrator Andy Sanders. Our Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Alderman Sherry Hicks. Please rise. Heavenly Father, we thank you for the opportunity to gather this evening in service to our community. We are grateful for the responsibility entrusted to us and for the many people who call the city home. God, we ask that you grant us wisdom as we consider all the matters before us tonight. Help us to listen well, to speak with clarity and lead with humility. Where there is disagreement, may we find common ground. Where there is complexity, may we find discernment. Bless those who work each day to keep our city safe, clean, and thriving. We ask for your guidance in every decision that it may reflect integrity, compassion, and a true desire to serve this wonderful community. In your holy name we pray. Amen.
