Public Comments & Testimony
- Gary Wagner (resident of Pauper States neighborhood, 1558 West Churchill Downs) spoke about Riverdale Park pickleball court repairs, citing a seven-month delay to fix concrete cracks and a drainage issue that impounds water after rain. He urged the board to expedite the work. Staff responded that the cracks were deeper than initially thought, requiring extensive analysis and repair, and that the drainage issue was unforeseen and being addressed with the contractor under warranty. The pickleball court was expected to open within a week or two.
Special Recognition
- LEAD Graduation: 22 employees completed the six-month Leaders of Excellence and Ambassador Development (LEAD) program. Jennifer Jenkins, program coordinator, presented certificates. One leadership award was given to a class member (name not specified in transcript).

- Germantown Festival Inc. – Temporary beer permit for the Germantown Festival on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13, 2026, 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. at the Germantown Civic Club Complex. An amendment to allow overnight beer storage (Friday, September 11, 5:00 p.m. to Monday, September 14, 10:00 a.m., in a refrigerated locked truck) was added to the motion and approved unanimously.
- Tiger Rugby Foundation – Temporary beer permit for a fall fundraiser on Friday, September 25, 2026, 6:00–11:00 p.m. at the Great Hall and Conference Center. Lisa Cole represented the foundation, describing its mission and fundraiser details including online ticket sales with ID checks. Approved unanimously.

Good evening, folks. Welcome to the Board of Mayor and Alderman meeting, regular scheduled meeting for Monday, July 13th. We welcome all those that are in attendance with us and join us in person. We welcome those that are joining us on GM TV as well. A few highlights about this evening's meeting. We do have a agenda item known as citizens to be heard. It's on each and every one of our agendas. It comes as item six. If you'd like to speak to your neighbor and members of the board and to the community, you can fill out a sheet. It's right outside the double doors. You'll fill that out and bring it to one of the officers. They'll bring it to the clerk. We have one so far, but you have time to be able to fill out a sheet and get it in process between now and item six. This evening we will honor our City of Germantown lead uh graduates and we'll have a graduation ceremony this evening. We welcome all those leads soon to be uh alums of the program. And uh this evening we will take a recess of the Board of Mayor and Alderman in item eight and convene as Germantown's beer board for three public hearings for temporary beer permits. This evening we have uh only a consent agenda and not a regular agenda. And other than that, this evening our invocation will be led by assistant city administrator Andy Sanders, and our Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Vice Mayor Mary Ann Gibson. Please rise bow with me, please. Holy Father, gracious God, we thank you for making this day. May we rejoice and be glad in it. We gather this evening with gratitude for the opportunity to serve this wonderful community and for the blessings of peace, safety, and fellowship in our wonderful city. Thank you for this board of servants and the city staff that supports them. As this board begins its work tonight, we humbly ask for your guidance, your support, and a clear vision. Grant them the wisdom, good judgment, and integrity necessary for sound decisions, acknowledging the impact of those decisions on the city's future. Help them to balance fiscal responsibility with the everyday needs of our citizens, approaching these choices with understanding and grace. Lord, show us how to take who we are, who we want to be, and what we can do and use it for the greater purpose than ourselves. Overall, may our service tonight bring you glory, guiding our work with your steady and unwavering hand. Amen. To the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands.
