Grand Island City Council Regular Meeting - July 9, 2024

The City Council met on July 9, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Council Chambers, 100 E First Street. All council members were present except Councilmember Conley.   • Ordinance #9981: Consideration of amendment to Chapter 15 (Electricity) of the Grand Island City Code to adopt the 2023 National Electrical Code. The presenter noted that the state electrical board adopted the 2023 code effective August 1, 2024, and the city must adopt the same or newer code to maintain its local electrical inspection program. Additionally, language was added to clarify utility department standards for interconnection of power-generating devices (e.g., solar, diesel, wind), directing readers to existing city utility standards and providing examples.
