0:29

I'll just add that this is the position that is reserved for a member representing the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

0:37

The current person filling that role resigned.

0:39

And so Mr.

0:41

Gibbs is a member of Parks and Recreation who is representing that body on urban forestry.

0:46

Oh thank you so much for that background.

0:48

Uh any further comments, colleagues.

0:51

Seeing none, all those in favor?

0:54

Aye.

0:54

Those opposed, motion carries.

0:57

That brings us to our second resolution confirming Mayor Lagrand's reappointment of Commissioner Isasi to the civil service board.

I think this is a great board, and your experiences clearly been a demonstratable thing that we needed on there.

1:19

And I know you have a lot of expertise to give.

1:21

Yes.

1:22

Thank you.

1:23

Yes, I agree.

1:24

Uh comments on this appointment, colleagues.

1:45

Just that it's nice to see the urban agriculture committee getting filled.

1:49

Yes, I agree.

1:50

There's uh some folks rolling off, so hopefully we will continue to keep uh that board filled, especially as they have a very important role in our climate action adaptation plan.

2:01

Um so I'm I'm excited to see more folks roll on.

2:04

Any further comments, colleagues?

2:08

Seeing none, all those in favor?

2:10

Aye, those opposed, motion carries.

2:13

Now, our fourth resolution can recognizing Commissioner Isassi's appointment of Stacey Stout to the Urban Agriculture Committee.

2:20

I'll move support.

2:22

Moved and support it.

2:23

Comments on this, colleagues.

2:24

Yes, Commissioner Isassi.

2:26

Thank you, Mr.

2:27

Chair.

2:27

Um Miss Stout as she worked here at the city for a number of years in the Office of Equity and Engagement, I should say, so there's no appearance of any conflict, even though she's not gonna get any money for this.

2:39

She is a good friend that I've known since college.

2:42

Um, and with her role at Blandford Nature Center, uh now leading that organization.

2:48

I think we'll uh serve as a another good member to this body.

2:50

So thank you.

2:51

Thank you, Commissioner Saucy.

2:53

I concur.

2:54

I am so happy to have uh Blandford a part of that work.

2:57

Any further comments?

2:58

Seeing none, all those in favor, aye, those opposed, motion carries.

3:03

And lastly, Miss Bosker, if you could please guide us through a discussion on our current board and commission vacancy list and let us know what that landscape looks like.

3:11

Sure, I'll start by saying that there are a couple of resignations.

3:14

The one I mentioned um from urban forestry, there's an urgent urban ag and stormwater and then a land bank resignation on the um agenda for later.

3:27

And so those are on my list to bump to the top of the list and gather applications.

3:34

Um the other is the civil service board.

3:39

There are a couple of terms that are ending, and we'll work on considering reappointment or filling those, and then um just sort of moving through and continuing to share applications and fill out the spots, which I think we're plugging along.

3:56

Thank you, Miss Bosker.

3:57

Commissioner Belchat.

3:59

Yes, thank you, Chair.

4:00

Um so regarding the stormwater um board.

4:05

Is that the at one point I had met with uh a gal who had been on there for a long term?

4:10

Is that still the same position that is open, or is this an addition to that?

4:16

It would it would be that one.

4:18

Um that person was not reappointed at the end of the year, and they agreed, as you mentioned, to continue to serve until you made your decision.

4:27

Okay, that's what I um suspected or thought, and so I um I do have some thoughts on how to move forward on that one, so I will pursue that.

4:35

Okay.

4:35

Thank you so much, Commissioner.

4:37

Uh yes, Commissioner Isassi.

4:39

Miss Bosker, can you share the names of everybody who's resigned as of who will be on the um later agenda today?

4:46

Yep.

4:46

Hannah, because I think somebody's uh was on two boards, right?

4:49

So I'm trying to get okay.

4:50

Hannah Mako resigned from Urban Forestry.

4:53

Um Carlos Calderone resigned from urban agriculture and Stormwater.

4:58

And then Tammy Vandenberg resigning from Land Bank, Grandpower's Land Bank Authority.

5:02

Okay.

5:02

I think Hannah was a reappointment, probably, because I feel like I had appointed or that she was in a reappointment phase.

5:08

Or was that was that her second term on that body?

5:10

Do you know?

5:11

Um Hannah, I believe was appointed about a year ago.

5:16

Okay.

5:16

She's a is still a member of Parks and Recreation.

5:19

Okay, I was like just resigning from urban forestry.

5:21

Yep, I know she served number of ways.

5:23

Carlos as well, full disclosure, Carlos is my cousin.

5:26

Um small, small and then the land bank board, that their first meeting was in January.

5:33

I'm not sure I'm not certain.

5:34

Okay.

5:34

Well, within this year, right?

5:36

Or within the last 18 months.

5:38

And so Tammy Vandenberg resigned after a few meetings.

5:42

Is that correct?

5:43

To my knowledge, yeah.

5:44

Okay.

5:45

All right.

5:45

Thank you.

5:46

Yeah, thank you, Commissioner Sauce.

5:48

I really appreciate Miss Vandenberg's um dedication uh to our city and I all of the folks at uh Miss Bosker listed, um Carlos uh Calderon and I worked at uh WeMia together.

6:02

Uh so I I know they're going through some some shifts and changes as many nonprofits are, um, but we're so thankful for all of the folks who serve on our boards and commissions.

6:11

Um, and I believe as uh for the public, um all of the land bank appointments are mayoral.

6:19

Uh so hopefully the mayor, I will connect with the mayor moving forward to uh see who will fill Miss Vandenberg's position.

6:26

So uh any further comments or concerns, colleagues.

6:30

Thank you so much.

6:31

The clerk's office.

6:32

Oh, yes, Commissioner Sassy.

6:34

Yep.

6:34

So um I just wanted to, it is we're now past the filing deadline, and we know that this is gonna be a busy election year.

6:42

I want to say thank you to the city clerk and Miss Kathy Harris for um doing a presentation at our neighborhood summit this week.

6:49

Um just to really make sure people are engaged in understanding our processes.

6:54

Um I think that we know that the department is going to be very busy this year, and uh, but we also have a lot of uh of good staff members um that are not always up here but are doing work in the clerk's office.

7:08

So just want to remind us that if we start thinking, I know uh Miss Bosker, you've done a lot of things to put not every appointment at the end of the year to help us with the management of that.

7:17

I just want to keep reminding us colleagues as we go um into these next couple of months.

7:23

Just are there things that we need to remind liaisons like hey, we really need you to follow up on this, or even just like other even just setting the stage if we need to make sure we're balancing all the work of the clerk's office.

7:34

So just wanted to put that out there because this will be a busy election season.

7:37

Thank you.

7:38

Wonderful.

7:38

Thank you, Commissioner Saucy.

7:40

Uh Miss Bosker and I are continuing to meet before our meetings, and uh I will continue as the chair to push that out to our colleagues, and our colleagues have some individual appointments as well.

7:51

So thank you so much for that reminder.

7:53

Any further comments, concerns for the good of the order?

7:57

All right.

7:58

That is a longer meeting for us, but good work.

8:01

We will adjourn the committee on appointments at 808 a.m.

8:04

Have a great morning.
