The Green City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 7:11 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Central Administration City of Green Building, 1755 Town Park Blvd., Green, OH. All seven council members were present (Brandenburg, DeVitis, Meager, Noble, Neugebauer, Speight, Humphrey). The agenda had listed a 7:00 p.m. start. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, roll call, a study session that included approval of the April 28, 2026 minutes, and recognition of the Green Community Leadership Initiative Class #5.

Consent Calendar & Study Session

  • Motion by Councilman Neugebauer to approve the April 28, 2026 Council Meeting Minutes carried 7-0 on roll call (Aye: Brandenburg, DeVitis, Meager, Noble, Neugebauer, Speight, Humphrey).

Recognition: Green Community Leadership Initiative Class #5

  • The city recognized the fifth class of the Green Community Leadership Initiative, a program started about nine years ago and modeled after the Akron Leadership Program.
  • Valerie (Val) described the program; the class elected Kyle Moore as class president and liaison to the city for the class project.
  • Class President Kyle Moore reported the project is in the "discovery phase": the class wants to give time and presence to nonprofits based in the city, asking nonprofits what they actually need. The class is leaning toward supporting Blessings on the Backpack, which is moving into a new home, plus assisting two other organizations with routine operations and maintenance.
  • Mayor referenced that more than 75 people have now completed the program across five classes and praised graduates for increasing community engagement. He also noted some students are not yet in the adult world and that the program brings students and their friends into city and community involvement.
